<strong>BARP</strong> Quarter In Review Date February 27 March 25 April 5 Activity/Event <strong>BARP</strong> signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Barbados Diabetes Foundation and the Heart & Stroke Foundation at the Maria Holder Diabetes Centre for the Caribbean, Warrens, St Michael. <strong>BARP</strong> President, Edward Bushell affirmed that this united approach would sensitise Barbadians, especially <strong>BARP</strong>’s 44,000 members, of management programmes in the screening and monitoring of non-communicable diseases (NCDs). <strong>BARP</strong> firmly believes that a healthy nation is necessary for increased productivity and economic growth. <strong>BARP</strong> in association with the Heart & Stroke Foundation, Barbados Diabetes Foundation and Seven Seas presented “Keys to a healthy heart 2” at the Main Guard, Garrison. Informative presentations were given by Gina Pitts, CEO, Heart & Stroke Foundation, Carla Ramsay, Nutritional Specialist and Dr Diane Brathwaite. “Fascination” at <strong>BARP</strong>’s Easter Hat Parade and Tea Party Attendees wearing hats of all sizes, shapes and themes gathered in the Needhams Room at the Hilton Resort for the <strong>BARP</strong> Easter Hat Parade and Tea Party on Easter Sunday. NOTICE TO MEMBERS: CHANGE TO NEW <strong>BARP</strong> PHOTO ID MEMBERSHIP CARD The New <strong>BARP</strong> Photo ID Membership Card was introduced on December 2, 2013 with new security features to benefit you as well as our valued concessionaires. To date, approximately 27,000 new memberships and renewals have been issued with new cards. Please note that effective December 31, 2015, the silver membership cards as well as the yellow life membership cards will no longer be accepted by merchants and concessionaires offering discounts to <strong>BARP</strong> members. In instances where your membership is still current, you may renew your membership prior to the renewal date to ensure that you continue receiving your discounts from the several businesses island wide. If you are in arrears or if your membership has lapsed, we invite you to update your membership by visiting the <strong>BARP</strong> Office during our regular business hours, Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 3:00 pm.
