Bayer ISTM test is only one method for dertermining the overall durability of the lens.5 Lenses typically tested in polycarbonate material. Due to availbility, tested in plastic. For more information contact Luzerne Optical Laboratories LTD at800-233-9637 or on the web at www.LuzerneOptical.com

terminologyAnti-Reflective (AR) TechnologyIntegrated Anti-Reflective (AR) Technology protectsyour eyes from glare and reflections that cause blurryvision and eye strain. This technology virtually removesreflections from the lens surface, allowing more light topass through helping patients see better and look better. Moreover, AR Technology reduces nighttime glare fromheadlights, tail lights and street lights for safer drivingand protects your eyes from computer reflections thatcause eye fatigue.Double-Sided Integrated Hard CoatThe Double-Sided Integrated Hard Coat layersignificantly increases the durability and scratchresistance of a lens providing long lasting clarityof vision.SR Booster (Increased scratch protection)The new Scratch Resistant (SR) Booster Layer addedbetween the hard coat and anti-reflective (AR) layersresults in glass class scratch resistance.Patented Pad Control System The Pad Control System layer is necessary for theblocking and edging process. Due to the exceptionalSuper-Hydrophobic properties of our premium No-Glarelenses, the Pad Control System is applied to enableadhesion of the leap pads to avoid slippage during theedging process.Anti-Static Technology(Repels dust and lint)Anti-Static Technology allows lenses to stay cleanerlonger by repelling dust and lint particles from thesurface of the lens.Super-Hydrophobic Top CoatThe Super-Hydrophobic Top Coat layer significantlyincreases the cleanability of a lens by improving its abilityto repel oil, water, and smudges.HSD Process (Increased cleanability)The revolutionary High Surface Density (HSD) Processimproves the strength, uniformity and durability of theSuper-Hydrophobic Top Coat, allowing the lens to retain98% of its performance through the life of the Rx.Top Coat Durability after 20,000 cleaningcycles (higher score is better)The Top Coat durability test evaluates the cleanabilityof a lens over time. It measures the percentage of theSuper Hydrophobic Top Coat remaining on the lens after20,000 cleaning cycles.Bayer ISTM Test (higher score is better)The Bayer ISTM Test evaluates the level of scratchresistance by exposing the lenses to abrasive gravel-likesubstance in a small shaker pan for 600 cycles. The testmeasures the light transmission of the exposed lenses.Enhanced Light Transmission (ELT) SystemThe ELT System is a unique technology developed byEssilor to maximize light transmission through the lensby even further reducing glare. The foundation of the ELTSystem is a unique light interference cancelling layerwhich works in combination with the newly reengineeredhigh-index hard coat to virtually eliminate bothersomeglare and visible reflections.Simulated Wear Test (scale 0-5)(higher score is better)The Simulated Wear Test consists of five different testsconducted in an attempt to simulate actual everydaywearer conditions for a No-Glare lens. The test includestumbling lenses in a drum with abrasive material, testinglenses in high humidity chamber and measuring lensesfor light transmission.Contact Angle (higher score is better)The contact angle is measured by placing a drop ofwater on the lens and using sophisticated equipment tomeasure the angle of the water droplet in relationship tothe lens surface. High contact angle lenses repel oil andwater more effectively. The higher the contact angle, theeasier it is to clean the lens. For more information contact Luzerne Optical Laboratories LTD at800-233-9637 or on the web at www.LuzerneOptical.com©2010 Essilor of America, Inc.
