Rubber rings have solved what was the<br />
chain-maker's biggest headache for<br />
many years: loss of lubricant. The loadbearing<br />
pins and bushings that enable<br />
a chain to bend over a sprocket have<br />
very little precious oil to keep them<br />
functioning properly. As if that wasn't<br />
enough, high centrifugal forces that<br />
occur when the chain turns around<br />
the drive sprocket throws away the<br />
oil. The only reason for chain wear is<br />
loss of lubricant. The advent of the<br />
X-ring chain enabled the chain to keep<br />
its oil inside and stay lubricated were<br />
it counts for long periods, which in<br />
return, extends chain life significantly.<br />

MAINTENANCE - SEALED RING CHAINS<br />
There are only three things you need to do to regularly maintain a modern sealedring<br />
chain:<br />
Clean it of debris (sand, dirt, grime).<br />
Lubricate the exterior (oil or wax), O-ring type lube only.<br />
Adjust it for elongation (not too tight!).<br />
