REGIMENTAL MANUALREGIMENTAL FAMILYARTICLE 3204 - SOCIETY FUNDINGFull details for funding of the <strong>Regimental</strong> Society may be found in the published minutes of theAnnual General Meetings, which are usually held as part of annual Moreuil Wood celebrations. Ingeneral, Society funds are necessary to publish and distribute the Newsletter and <strong>The</strong> Strathconian,operate the <strong>Regimental</strong> Museum, maintain Society property, supplement regimental sports teams andconduct special events and exercises (e.g. All Ranks’ Dance, Children’s Christmas Party, regimentalhistory books, Historical Vehicle Troop, etc). <strong>The</strong> Strathcona Mounted Troop is funded separately – seeARTICLE 3504 - Ceremonial Mounted Troop Foundation. In order to help achieve its objectives, the<strong>Regimental</strong> Society relies heavily on fund-raising and donations (e.g. general donations, donations in kindfor the Newsletter and individual pay allotments to “Y006”).ARTICLE 3205 - SOCIETY BY-LAWS<strong>The</strong> by-laws of the <strong>Regimental</strong> Society are registered with the Province of Alberta in accordancewith the Societies Act of Albert and are maintained as a separate document by the <strong>Regimental</strong> <strong>Second</strong> inCommand.ARTICLE 3300 - ASSOCIATION COMPOSITIONSECTION 3 - REGIMENTAL ASSOCIATION<strong>Lord</strong> Strathcona’s <strong>Horse</strong> (Royal Canadians) <strong>Regimental</strong> Association is a group constituted of:a. former and serving members of the Regiment;b. former members of the Canadian Cavalry, the Canadian Armoured Corps or the RoyalCanadian Armoured Corps; orc. any member of an associated unit who has been attached to or carried on the strength ofthe Regiment.ARTICLE 3301 - ASSOCIATION OBJECTIVES<strong>The</strong> objectives of the <strong>Regimental</strong> Association are:a. to perpetuate and foster the esprit de corps, comradeship and sense of service inaccordance with the high traditions of the Regiment;b. to maintain a close liaison with the Regiment wherever it may be stationed;c. to make arrangements for caring for and rendering such assistance as the resources of theAssociation may permit on behalf of members who are in need of the same;d. to assist in a like manner the dependants of any deceased member; ande. to promote and encourage the mutual enjoyment of good fellowship among allStrathconas, their families and friends by sponsoring annual or other celebrationscommemorating regimental achievements and activities.3-3
