SUPPORT GENERAL REFERENCE ANDINFORMATION ENQUIRY WORKCI-LI-252SWhat?WSQ Courses are nationally recognisedshort competency based training coursesleading to individual Statements of Attainmenton successful completion of abrief assessment. Credits may be accumulatedtowards a WSQ Higher Certificatein Library and Information Work onsuccessful completion of all Level 2courses with equivalent to 150 hours oftraining.• Staff working in a library but whohave no specific education or trainingin library work• Support staff new to library work orwho are undertaking new duties ina different area• Experiences support staff whowould like a nationally recognisedSOA or certificate• Experienced support staff whowould like a more rounded or upto date understanding of the fullrange of library workFor whom?There are no specific pre‐requisites forthese entry level courses apart fromsound literacy and numeracy. SUPPORT GENERAL REFERENCE ANDINFORMATION ENQUIRY WORKCI-LI-252SWhat do you get?On successful completion of assessmenttasks the individual is eligible for a WSQStatement of Attainment in Library andInformation Work issued by WDA for eachcompleted programme.Trainers and Assessors?All our trainers and assessors are experiencedprofessional librarians who alsohold an ACTA (Advanced Certificate inTraining and Assessment) certification.Where?This is a 2 day programme to be held atthe NLBA Training Rooms, Level 3 ToaPayoh Public Library, near Toa PayohMRT. Detailed directions will be given toall registrants.Assessments will be held at the LibraryInstructional Commons (Block N2, level3B directly below Business Library) atNanyang Technological University .Assessment appointment details will beconfirmed later.How much?The subsidised fee (inclusive of GST) applicable to all Singaporeans andSingapore PRs is $205.3

SUPPORT GENERAL REFERENCE ANDINFORMATION ENQUIRY WORKProgramme 1: CI-LI-252SWSQ support general and information enquiry workThis 2 day programme will cover the training required to:• Answer basic enquiries• Receive and refer more complex enquiries• Search library catalogues and other basic finding tools• Provide appropriate response, follow up and closure to enquirers• Acquire a resource that is not part of the home collection for a customerAt the end of the programme participants will be able to:• Apply appropriate techniques in face to face transactions• Apply appropriate techniques in remote transactions• Apply service recovery techniques where necessary• Escalate technical issues where indicated• Follow document services proceduresCI-LI-252STo enrol:To enrol for this programme please click here. These modules arealso accredited under the Singapore Workforce Skills Qualification (WSQ). Traineeswho have successfully completed and been issued with Statements of Attainmentfor all 8 courses will have gained enough credit points to become eligiblefor a WSQ Higher Certificate in Library Work.
