I think you will agree thatwe had an entertaining and informative speaker inLawrence Smith-Higgins from the Intellectual PropertyOffice, based in Newport. I personally learned a greatdeal from his talk and given the feedback I received, Iwas not the only attendee to benefit from this positiveexperience.Which brings me onto the positive experience peoplehad who attended May’s business exhibition in CwmbranStadium. From an exhibitor’s point of view it was greatas it allowed me to showcase a number of new products.Numerous other attendees gave highly encouragingfeedback and felt the event worthwhile and wouldsupport a future business exhibition in Torfaen.I am looking to showcase my new business shortly soget in before me! Beat me to it.I was going to say WHAT A WONDERFUL SUMMER thenit rained again. Never mind hopefully good weather willreturn and go on into September so that the next TBVevent can be held in sunshine. Our event on Thursday17th September will feature two rounds of facilitatednetworking, two member spotlights plus buffet. Thebuffet ensures I will attend; so I look forward tomeeting you all then.In my opinion therefore, our business club seems tooffer members excellent value for money providingplenty of networking opportunities and a chance todevelop new business relationships through our events.With this in mind the Torfaen Business Voice Committeeasks members to continue their support in growing thispopular business club. Tell a friend, post a Facebookstatus, comment on Twitter, or share a thought with ourLinkedIn group.Don’t forget that as a TBV member you have theopportunity to publicise your business through theNewsletter. It’s distributed in hard copy format tobusinesses and individuals plus it’s added to the TorfaenEconomy & Enterprise website. Lawrence delivered a fascinating talk on Intellectual Property Rights andhow they are used and applied in business.In addition, Torfaen Business Voice members Able Radio and PontnewyddGolf Club gave a 5 minute introduction to their businesses as part of theMember Spotlight programme. A round of facilitated networking providedattendees with the opportunity to introduce their own businesses to otherson their table. The evening concluded with informal networking over thebuffet.The next Torfaen Business Voice members’ quarterly event will take placeon Thursday 17th September 2015 at Greenmeadow Golf and CountryClub, Cwmbran.
