TECHNICAL BULLETIN TS15THIRD PARTY LABORATORIESUNDERWRITERS LABORATORIES LISTED PRODUCTSFACTORY MUTUAL RESEARCH CORPORATION (FMRC)K-Flex USA elastomeric insulation products (brands designated Insul ® - and K-Flex ® ) have been tested inaccordance with test methods under the jurisdiction of UL for flammability characteristics per UL94 (HBF,VO, 5V). These products are UL recognized under K-Flex USA, file #E300774, (UL Web Site – www.UL.com). K-Flex ® elastomeric tape products are also listed as meeting UL94 5V when tested adhered to ametal plate.Other material properties have been confirmed by certified, nationally recognized, independent laboratoriesother than UL. While independent labs are able to guarantee that tested materials comply with the UL teststandards and requirements, they do not have the authority to issue UL certification. UL 181 and UL 723would be examples tests conducted to UL standards by other independent testing laboratories.A UL listing / approval / certification program typically involves periodic follow up to the manufacturinglocation for continual testing and monitoring of the listed / approved / certified product(s). This programserves to verify and assure that product quality and performance properties, along with the manufacturingpractices, remain consistent.Factory Mutual Research Corporation (FMRC)K-Flex USA extruded tubular insulation products (Insul-Tube ® , K-Flex ® LS and FlexTherm ® ) are approvedand listed by Factory Mutual Research Corporation.These products have been subjected to examinations and inspections and have been found to satisfy thecriteria for approval and are listed in FMRC’s Approval Guide for Building Materials. The examinationsand inspections are performed by FMRC technicians and engineers according to FMRC requirements orrecognized national and international requirements. Continued approval depends on satisfactory fieldperformance and conditions such as periodic unannounced audits of our manufacturing facility.FMRC has certified the following performance properties of K-Flex USA insulation products:Thermal ConductivityWater Vapor TransmissionFlammability CharacteristicsIn compliance with our approval, every piece of approved insulation displays the FM logo.TS15-1010
