Communication between thecentral unit, one or more control PC’s, slave PC’sand video display PC´s can be easily establishedvia LAN cabling and the most commonly usedprotocol in the world: TCP/IP.In stand-alone mode, the CPU5500 can providebasic <strong>conference</strong> management functions,including basic voting. With one or two controlPC’s (one for the complete system or onefor the microphone system and one for thesimultaneous interpretation system), even themost advanced applications are possible withthe powerful TCS 5500 software modules.To allow the user to configure the <strong>conference</strong>parameters an interface consisting of an LCDdisplay, a jog wheel and selection buttons isintegrated in the front of the unit. In addition,8 status LEDs are provided that visualise someimportant status levels.A monitoring loudspeaker is installed behindthe front panel allowing the operator tolisten to a selectable channel.
