American Red Cross Babysitters Training (Grades 6-8)The American Red Cross Babysitters Training class (with Certification) will be presented at <strong>Old</strong> <strong>Trail</strong> <strong>School</strong> in foursessions. The course provides knowledge and skills necessary to safely and responsibly give care to children andinfants. This training will help students develop leadership skills; keep themselves and others safe; learn about basicchild care and first aid; and learn how to guide children’s behavior. This class will take place in the new Harrington McLaughlin AthleticCenter and students will learn about forehand, backhand, volley and serve. Chicks with Sticks (Grades 3-6)It will be indoor field hockey in the new Harrington McLaughlin Athletic Center with emphasis on stick skills such asdribbling, reverse stick hits, push passes, proper stops and dodges. Students will do drills, play short-sided games, fullfield games and will review the rules, violations and fouls that are enforced during game play. The 10-weekprogram strives to encourage positive emotional, social, mental, spiritual and physicaldevelopment.
