Someone even commented to me that he felt that the davening was worthy of “piercing the heavens.” It is because so much planning andpreparation took place before the Yomim Naraim that we all felt that the davening was so exceptional.I must acknowledge that it is B’rov Am Hadras Melech of all of you that made it worth every second. Yasher koach to our chazanim Chaim Gartenhaus, Dr. JonathanLasson, Eddie Schwartz, Chaim Spero, Rabbi David Finkelstein, Sam Finkelstein, Eli Robbins, Shlomo Schulman, Abe Schwartz and Avraham Landesman. This yearmarked the 25th year that Chaim Gartenhaus was our Chazan here at Shomrei Emunah and we wish him continued bracha and hatzlacha. Also, special mention andthanks goes to our Baal Tokeah’s Rabbi Asher Stein and Rabbi Dr. Yosef Levenbrown and to our Baal Makrah’s our Rav, Rabbi Marwick, and Dr. Moshe Lasson.Thank you to our seating committee Larry Ziffer, Avi Zuckerbrod, Alan Taragin and Chaim Wealcatch, as they did a superb job at accommodating all of therequests and making sure that all of our members and guests felt welcomed and at home. Thank you to Rosemary Warschawski and Shimmy Weichbrod for compiling, designing andprinting of the Kol Hashomrim publication. Thank you to Dr. Moshe Lasson and Sam Sperling for their words of chizak and encouragement before Kol Nidrei andNeilah. Thank you to our office staff Rivky and Shira who diligently managed the myriad of details that are involved in the preparation for a successful YomimNaraim. Thank you to our Shammos, Yosef Shpilman, who organized and ensured that our building was physically ready for the Yomim Naraim. Finally, we thankour Rav for his drashos and shiurim. Each time our Rav addressed us, he presented a full tapestry of thoughts which included a beautiful message intertwined withstories, lessons and middos to emulate. As you can see it takes a great team to pull off a successful Yom Tov.To top it off—then we celebrated Sukkos, followed by Shmini Atzeres and Simchas Torah. Each of these yomim tovim were exciting and enriching. I want to beginby thanking Josh and Batsheva Zaslow for chaperoning the Sukkah Hop as well as to all of those who opened their Sukkahs and participated in the event.
