Soon after, a strategic plan was putinto effect that included governance with a finance committee reportingto the Board. The finance committee set about to establish the financial guidelinesneeded to meet the strategic goals established by the Board. Those guidelines encompassed strong internal financial controlsover expenditures, setting wage and fringe benefit guidelines, andsetting tuition and fees at levels required to manage cash flow ona positive basis. The finance committee also reviews the developmentdepartment budget, an integral contributor to fundingCrespi’s financial aid and capital expenditure programs.Maintaining and updating sound strategic planning by the Boardof Directors, together with the implementation of solid financialrecommendations and guidelines, has truly been gratifying. Students’achievements have excelled, school curriculum and facilitiesare vastly improved, teacher remuneration is competitive, and Crespi is now in fine financial condition. That does not mean we can rest on our laurels. The current economicclimate and change in community demographics is currentlyimpinging on tuition affordability. Our current financialstrategy is to manage Crespi on a positive cash flow basis, recognizingtuition affordability and the need to stringently manageexpenses. Our sound financial platforms are geared to insureCrespi will continue to provide superior education as the only allboys’Catholic Christian School in the community. And as an additional footnote, our financial goals could not havebeen achieved without the generous financial support of Alumni, alumni parents, and foundation grants. Their continued gifts toCrespi are vital to strengthening our commitment to developingCrespi men.2010-11 Total Actual expenses $10,539,136■ Faculty Salaries and Instructional Materials $ 4,677,224.00 44%■ Maintenance $ 457,311.00 4%■ Athletics $ 397,789.00 4%■ Administrative Staff and General Expenses $ 1,654,694.00 16%■ Capital Expenditures $ 124,065.00 1%■ Fixed Costs $ 1,409,547.00 13%■ Scholarship and Financial Aid $ 1,237,564.00 12%■ Development $ 580,942.00 6%2010-11 Total Actual Revenue $10,508,487■ Development■ Tuition, Fees and other income$$1,273,607.009,234,880.0012%88%20
