28 PROCEEDINGS OF THE1899 I am indebted for these particulars. The same periodicalcontains a list of no less than a hundred and fifty-sixarticlesand separate works of which he was the author, or occasionallythe joint author. His death, at an age below 37, has cut shorta most promising career. Those who were brought in contactwithhim in business relations can bear testimony to the uprightnessof his character and to his quickness of perception. PersonallyI much regret his loss, and not the less so because I had in oldtimes the pleasure of being acquainted with both his father andgrandfather before him.It is with deep regret that I have to record the decease ofProfessor Adolf Holm, who, though not an Honorary Memberof our Society, deserved well of numismatic science.
