NewsEmirates Transport concluded its participationin the 12th edition of theGlobal Forum for Foreign Direct Investment(FDI), which was organizedby the Sharjah Authority for Investmentand Development “Shurooq”between 8th and 10th of February.<strong>ET</strong> was also the Transport Sponsor ofthis event, as part of its efforts to supportits strategic partners.Through its participation in the Forum,the corporation promoted apackage of transport solutions andservices provided by Emirates Transport,in accordance with highestMarketing transport and support services<strong>ET</strong> participates in the 2015 GlobalForum for Foreign Direct Investmentstandards the quality, efficiency andtransparency.Aaref Al Blooshi, Marketing Managerat <strong>ET</strong>, said the corporation takesan increasing interest in participatingin various strategically importantregion-wide events; adding that thedecision to sponsor and participate inthis Forum came after considerationwith a marketing and strategic.The Forum was held for the first timein the Middle East, with the participationof a group of prominent expertsand specialists in business and investmentfrom around the world, andsenior executives of companies, bothlocally and internationally.Emirates Transport honoured during the inaugurationof the 31st GCC Traffic Week in Abu DhabiEmirates Transport participated in theactivities of the 31st GCC Traffic Week,under the slogan “Your Choice DeterminesYour Destiny”.The Traffic Week is organized by theGeneral Directorate of Abu Dhabi Police,represented by the Directorate ofTraffic and Patrols, at the Yas Mall, inAbu Dhabi, and includes many eventsand different activities throughout theweek, including the programme “To-For its support of traffic awareness effortsgether”, which is sponsored by EmiratesTransport.Emirates Transport was honoured forits support of traffic awareness programmes,among a number of strategicpartners for Abu Dhabi Police.Mohammed Abdullah Al Jarman, GeneralManager of Emirates Transport wason hand to receive the honorary shieldfrom HE Lt. General Saif Abdullah AlShafar, Undersecretary of the Ministry50,000 participants from all over the country take partHealth & safety awareness monthconcludes at Emirates Transportof the Interior.Al Shafar also honoured a school transportdriver from <strong>ET</strong> for his 30 years ofservice unblemished by any traffic accident.Also taking part in the opening ceremony,and representing the federaltransport corporation, was the youngEmirati student, Adeeb Sulaiman AlBalushi, the official Safety Ambassadorof Emirates Transport.12 13Issue <strong>57</strong>Reviewed preparations for the start of the Operational Cards projectFederal Transport Authority, Emirates Transport discussstrengthening cooperation in the road transport sectorSalim Ali Al Zaabi, Director Generalof the Federal Land and Marine TransportAuthority (FLMTA), received in hisoffice in Abu Dhabi, Mohammed AbdullahAl Jarman, General Manager ofEmirates Transport, during which theyboth discussed mutual cooperation betweenthe two parties.The two sides also discussed the activationof an agreements between theFLMTA and <strong>ET</strong>, under which the federaltransport corporation will issuetransport operation licenses, on behalfof the FLMTA.Al Zaabi stressed that the project willhelp in creating an operational inventoryand registration of all public companiesand institutions operating inthe field of road transport in the state,which will contribute effectively inbuilding an integrated system in orderto preserve and develop the road infrastructure.For his part, Mohammed Abdullah AlJarman, General Manager of EmiratesTransport, confirmed the depth of thestrategic partnership between the corporationand the FLMTA, given theirshared field and similar objectives asgovernmental institutions.According to Al Jarman, all centresand sites of Emirates Transport and alltechnical and operational teams arenow ready to start issuing operationallicenses for all road transport vehiclesin the country.The 4th Emirates Transport Month ofOccupational Health and Safety wasconcluded with a closing ceremony at<strong>ET</strong>’s Dubai head office.Mohammed Abdullah Al Jarman,<strong>ET</strong> General Manager, said the eventproved very successful with more than50,000 participants taking part, includingnearly 32,000 members of thegeneral public.The month-long event aimed at increasingawareness and provide basichealth and safety training and educationto employees of the federaltransport corporation. Most of thenearly 300 events were also open tothe general public, including schoolstudents.Some of the events of the month-longcampaign included workshops on firstaid and firefighting, as well as lectureson healthy diet and nutrition, and freemedical check-ups for employees.The awareness month was supportedby contributions from 160 governmentand private sector organisations,stated Al Jarman, during the closingceremony. Among the leading contributorswere the Ministry of Interior, AbuDubai Education Council, the Ministryof Education and the various localhealth authorities in each emirate.Safety AmbassadorTo mark the launch of this year’s Monthof Occupational Health and Safety, officialsat <strong>ET</strong> announced the creation ofa new honorary annual title of SafetyAmbassador which will be bestowedon a prominent Emirati personality toencapsulate and represent the valuesof safety of the corporation.The young Emirati inventor, Adeeb AlBalushi, was chosen by <strong>ET</strong> to be thisyear’s inaugural recipient of the title.APRIL 2015
