Welcome to <strong>the</strong> second edition of<br />

Collectors, our online publication for<br />

<strong>Royal</strong> <strong>Doulton</strong> Collectables Australia.<br />

The festive season is well and truly<br />

upon us and in this issue we take<br />

a look at some of our beautiful<br />

Christmas figurines for 2011, including<br />

<strong>the</strong> 12 days of Christmas Petite series,<br />

<strong>the</strong> suitably festive Pretty Lady and<br />

Petite Christmas Annuals, as well as<br />

adorable Santa figures and Christmas<br />

figure snow globes. <strong>Royal</strong> <strong>Doulton</strong><br />

has also come toge<strong>the</strong>r with Barbie to create a new bone<br />

china figurine collection, directly inspired by a Barbie Doll, and<br />

<strong>the</strong> special Holiday Barbie brings a touch of glamour to your<br />

Christmas celebrations.<br />

<strong>Royal</strong> <strong>Doulton</strong> has commemorated many <strong>Royal</strong>s over <strong>the</strong><br />

years, last time we brought you <strong>the</strong> story behind <strong>the</strong> Ca<strong>the</strong>rine<br />

<strong>Royal</strong> Wedding Day figurine and avid collectors will be able<br />

to complete <strong>the</strong>ir set with <strong>the</strong> Prince William <strong>Royal</strong> Wedding<br />

Day figurine, which has been created with <strong>the</strong> same attention<br />

to detail. In commemoration of ano<strong>the</strong>r momentous <strong>Royal</strong><br />

occasion a figure of Queen Elizabeth II has been produced to<br />

celebrate Her Majesty’s Diamond Jubilee.<br />

Also in this issue we delve into <strong>the</strong> history of <strong>the</strong> <strong>Royal</strong> <strong>Doulton</strong><br />

company and its humble beginnings. Learn more about how<br />

some of <strong>Royal</strong> <strong>Doulton</strong>’s most notable artists have helped<br />

shape <strong>the</strong> company over <strong>the</strong> years, including Sir Henry <strong>Doulton</strong><br />

himself, as well as George Tinworth, Charles Nokes and Peggy<br />

Davies. You will also meet Neil Faulkner, who is one of our<br />

freelance artists and paints fantastic watercolours for <strong>the</strong><br />

figurine artworks.<br />

This year’s Michael <strong>Doulton</strong> Tour was a resounding success and<br />

Michael thoroughly enjoyed <strong>the</strong> tour and meeting collectors<br />

from around <strong>the</strong> country. I hope many of you were able to<br />

come along to one of his many store appearances and meet<br />

Michael personally. Take a look at some of <strong>the</strong> photos from <strong>the</strong><br />

tour and you might just recognise yourself in one of <strong>the</strong>m!<br />

Finally, <strong>the</strong> next Australian Bunnykins Commission Outdoor<br />

Dunny Bunny is getting closer to its final production stage and<br />

due for release in April 2012 and take a sneak peak at our o<strong>the</strong>r<br />

new releases for 2012, including a select preview of <strong>the</strong> new<br />

collection of figurines World of Dance, which will feature in <strong>the</strong><br />

next Michael <strong>Doulton</strong> Tour.<br />
