Viewed live by 72 million people around the globe,
the Royal Wedding of William and Catherine drew
an incredible audience and the special day was
declared a Public Holiday in the United Kingdom. To
commemorate this momentous occasion in history,
the figurines of both Catherine and William have
been carefully designed to display all of the finer
details of the garments worn by both.
In this issue we take a closer look at Prince William's,
now the Duke of Cambridge, Irish Guards uniform.
Since he had been appointed colonel of the Irish
Guards, Prince William chose to wear the Mounted
Officer's uniform in the Guard of Honour Order for
that regiment. As a Knight of the Order of the Garter,
he wore the order's blue riband. Affixed to the blue
Garter Sash were his RAF wings, the Garter Star and
Golden Jubilee Medal. Although he wore gold sword
slings on his left, he did not carry a sword as he was
entering a church. Prince William’s trousers feature
the traditional red stripe and the scarlet red tone
of the tunic itself is known as the Guards' red. The
typical buttons are in groups of four and the precise
arrangement of buttons on the tunic reveals that the
Irish Guards’ position is in the Fourth Regiment of
Foot Guards.
These details have all been meticulously hand painted
on our limited edition figure of Prince William, which
perfectly compliments the Catherine Wedding Day
figure and makes a striking addition to a collection of
Royal Figures. The Prince William Royal Wedding Day
