However, if one reflects on the last12 months it would be fair to say thatwe`ve learnt a bit more of each otherscharacter. As a group we get testedin various ways. It may be by weatherconditions, injury, a selection decision,an umpiring decision or simply poorform as an individual or as a team. “Sowhat!”, you may ask? It wasalways going to be a tough ask, butwe knew if we weren’t lazy and didthe basics well, anything is possible. It was a competitive first half, whichsaw us trailing by just 20 points at themain break. Unfortunately, Mount tookcontrol in the second half, kicking 9.12to run away 69 point victors. Josh Colewas adjudged best on ground for theday – slotting one major amongst hiscountless possessions.A fresh start for the Reserves sawthem come away with a thrilling 40point victory over Mount Waverley.Mount took the lead early after ahesitant start by the Redlegs butit didn’t take long for us to find ourstraps and click as a team. Thisresulted in a six goal second quarter, which saw us not only take the lead, but really take the game away fromMount early. The game as a wholewas an impressive display of teamorientatedfootball, with a plan, plentyof link up and run. Williams, Northey,McLeod and Davis all kicked two goalswhilst Josh Furborough was best onground for his first use out of the ruckall day. With both Hallam and SouthernDoveton forfeiting from the Thirds, the final three rounds were shuffledwhich saw us take on Black Rock –who beat us by 20 points three roundsago.
