AFOA SASKATCHEWANMembershipAFOA Saskatchewan had 181 members at March31, 20<strong>09</strong>.Training and eventsOur 9th Annual Fall Conference was held November 5th & 6th <strong>2008</strong> inSaskatoon Saskatchewan.Our conference theme was“Understanding FirstNations Financial Reporting Standards”.The format for Day One of the conferencewas based on a wide range of topics.Day two’s focus was on the requirements proposed by the CanadianInstitute of Chartered Accountants (CICA). With over 140 delegates in attendanceand 20 participating trade booths the event was an overwhelmingsuccess and the feedback was positive and uplifting. We lookforward to hosting more conferences focusing on financial literacy andgovernance for First Nations in Saskatchewan in 20<strong>09</strong>/2010.Other AchievementsAFOA Saskatchewan builds on its successes with an extensive “CorporateMembership Package” including a new website at www.afoask.ca. AFOASK is proud to report the growth of our corporate membership. As comparedto 2007/<strong>2008</strong> AFOA Saskatchewan had 0 corporate members wenow have 9 corporate members.
