(IMO) in Wetzlar. DasIMO hatte damals schon mehr als zehn JahreForschungserfahrung auf dem Gebiet dermagnetoresistiven Technologie.2003 erwarb Sensitec Europas modernsteund leistungsfähigste Fabrik für AMR- undGMR-Sensorik in Mainz. Die Produktpalettefür industrielle Anwendungen wurdeseitdem stark erweitert. Sensitec hat sichmit verschiedenen Produkten durch eineentsprechende Qualifizierung auf demAutomobilmarkt etabliert. Um die extremstrengen technischen Spezifikationen derAutomobilhersteller hinsichtlich Produktqualitätund Produktivität zu erfüllen, erfolgtedie Zertifizierung gemäß ISO/TS 16949:2002,die den Qualitätsmanagementstandard fürLieferanten der Automobilindustrie festschreibt.Darüber hinaus hat der StandortMainz ein zertifiziertes Umweltmanagementsystemnach der Norm ISO14001 sowie dasEnergiemananagementsystem gemäß ISO50001 eingeführt.Sensitec GmbH was founded in 1999 inLahnau, near to Wetzlar, in Germany. Thedemand for MagnetoResistive (MR) sensorsfor industrial and automotive applicationswas great and continues to increase. Sensitecwas able to establish itself in this rapidlyexpanding market and grew continuously.Already in 2000 Sensitec was able to takeover the Institute for Micro Structure Technologyand Opto Electronics (IMO) in Wetzlar.This institute already had more than 10 yearsresearch and development experience in thefield of magnetoresistive sensors.In 2003 Sensitec took over control ofEurope’s most efficient and modern factoryfor the production of sensors based on AMR-and GMR-technology in Mainz. The range ofproducts for industrial applications could bewidened significantly since then.The qualification of various automotiverelatedproducts established Sensitec asqualified supplier in this sector. The globalautomotive industry demands world classlevels of product quality and productivity.To achieve this goal Sensitec implemented acertification according to ISO/TS 16949:2002,which describes the quality managementstandard for suppliers to the automotiveindustry.
