This means that no starches, sizing orfinishes have been used on the fabric as thesetreatments, including optical whiteners, willinterfere with the absorption and therefore theeffectiveness of dye.Although your fabric has been sold as ‘dressingfree’ it should still be prepared for dyeingbecause it will have attracted grease or dirtduring handling. Rinsethoroughly in warm water and your fabric,fibres or yarns are now Prepared for Dyeing.Synthrapol can also be used after dyeing toprevent back staining by removing colour whichhas not combined with the fabric.
