Members of the Departmentof Teaching and Academic Development, for example, initially built the core technology for its mobile apps, and students and instructors from Digital Media and IT(DMIT) helped produce Sunny on the Slopes, a short filmabout a Mongolian girl’s efforts to learn to ski.Recently, Seekers Media again turned to DMIT forassistance. Students developed a system that allowsevent organizers, advertisers and Barr’s staff to uploadinformation to the Seekers Media sites. Going forward,Barr would like to see more partner projects.“It’s a win-win,” he says. “It’s an opportunity for us toget a solution we need, and it’s obviously an opportunityfor students to get some real-world experience.”v5.1 2011 47
