Building the business fitted in well with myrole as co-commentator with Murray Walker on the BBC Grand PrixTV programme. From the outset my objective was to provide the bestcorporate hospitality motorsport driving event in the world. Key toachieving this was to give our guests unprecedented levels of not justfreedom but encouragement to push some fabulous high performancecars harder than they ever dreamed.More than twenty years on our philosophy of coaching our guests togo absolutely flat out (in safety!) and striving to improve lap times ineach machine is more powerful than ever. And for the first time, we’veintroduced F1-style live timing on all our activities so our guests can seethe continually updated results screen and know exactly who has donewhat lap time as they watch the cars going past.At PalmerSport we’re totally focussed on delivering the best drivingevent in the world. You will experience one of the most exhilarating daysof your life, and leave us with memories that last forever!Jonathan PalmerChief Executive1999 - PalmerSport moves from Bruntingthorpeto the newly created Bedford Autodrome2004 - Jonathan’s MSV company acquiresthe Brands Hatch group of circuitsJONATHAN PALMERMOTORSPORT MAESTROJonathan Palmer is Chief Executive of the MotorSport VisionGroup (MSV) which, in addition to Bedford Autodrome andPalmerSport, owns and operates the Brands Hatch, CadwellPark, Oulton Park and Snetterton race circuits. THE ULTIMATEOFF ROADERLAND ROVER DEFENDERIf you‘re hoping our Defenders will give you time to relax betweenracing cars - think again. Unless you apply as much skill, concentrationand bravery in the mud as you do on the track you’ll have no chanceof successfully negotiating your way down rock-strewn paths, throughdeep rivers and up slopes so extreme you’ll scarcely believe even a4x4 could scale them. You’ll climb so steeply that all you can see through thewindscreen is sky, and plunge off what appears tobe the edge of the world. You’ll negotiate trackscovered in impossible-looking boulders, fordrivers and take on our infamous see-saw, usingnothing other than the weight of the car at thepivot point to tilt the platform so you can drivedown the other side.OFF ROADCIRCUITIf you put your faith in our rugged Defendersand listen to your instructor, you’ll emerge theother side lost in admiration for a great Britishinstitution that for over 50 years has remainedunequalled.Just like every vehicle at PalmerSport, in its chosenfield, it is the best of the best.SCORING: HIGHEST SCORE19

And you’ll need plenty offinesse too, not least for that innocent looking roundabout - mastersmoking doughnuts and you’ll beat your opponent every time in thisbest of three contest.SCORING: BEST OF THREE COMPETITION21

BEDFORDAUTODROMEMOTORSPORTPARADISEBedford Autodrome is the world’smost extensive, thrilling and safemotorsport complex, with fourtracks totalling six miles of tarmaccomprising endless straights, flatout curves, challenging bends andslide-inducing hairpins. The whole philosophy behindPalmerSport and what makes it sodifferent to any other motorsportevent is that we want you go asfast as you possibly can. Thisis why Bedford Autodrome wascreated specifically with flat outdriving – but not motor racing – inmind. There are no Armco barriers, concrete walls or grandstands toavoid, just endless run-off andacres of grass. With the comfort of knowingthere’s nothing to hit but therev limiter, and a professionalinstructor sat right alongside, you will have the confidenceto push our cars and yourselfharder than you might ever havethought possible. And by runningfour circuits simultaneously wecan keep your waiting time to aminimum and maximise your timebehind the wheel.THEPALMERSPORTFLEETENGINEERING EXCELLENCEMaintaining a fleet of over100 vehicles to PalmerSportstandards is a monumental task– every single one has to be fitand ready to be driven to itslimit all day, every day. This is why we employ agreat team of outstandingtechnicians, many with race teamexperience. We don’t just replaceconsumables like tyres and brakepads - our cars follow a rigorousschedule of maintenance whereparts are lifed and replacedregardless of condition, just asthey are in the safety-dominatedaircraft industry.By applying such standards wecan ensure that our cars arenot only supremely reliable andsafe, but as identical as theycan possibly be. Equality ofvehicle performance is a vitalcomponent in the PalmerSportexperience: if you win one of ourcoveted trophies, you’ll knowit’s because you were simply thefastest driver out there.23

Even more important isthe ability of our instructors toestablish a rapport with our guests,to quickly understand their levelsof experience, confidence andexpectation. The most rewardingthing for them is to see every guestprogress and gain the maximumsatisfaction from their time in thecars, through encouragement andcoaching, from whatever level theymight start.PALMERSPORTTEAM LEADERSGUIDING YOU EVERYSTEP OF THE WAYEvery guest at PalmerSport ispart of a team and every teamhas its own leader - a highlyexperienced member of ourstaff who will be with you fromstart to finish, ensuring yourentire event runs like clockwork.Your team leader will explainevery activity, when you willbe driving and what you needto wear.
