Weather / Fire / Safety DrillsAt home or in school; children need to be able to follow thedirections of an adult in an emergency situation. Wepractice drills in all of our programs on a regular basis. This provides an opportunity for children and adults tobecome familiar with the guidelines necessary in eachsituation. Our staff reassures the children that adults arewith them to keep them safe. We encourage parents tosupport our efforts and follow through by planning safetyprocedures in the home. If you are present during a drill, please follow the instructions given by the teacher.Toilet TrainingChildren enrolled in our preschool program must becompletely toilet trained. Children should not be in pull-upsor diapers. A child should be able to communicate to theteacher that he or she needs to use the toilet. Teacherswill assist a child with buttons or snaps. Occasionally, achild may soil his or her clothes while attempting to use thetoilet. Please provide an extra change of clothes. If a child is unsuccessful using the toilet in the groupsetting, it may be necessary to withdraw until such timethat toilet training is reliably established.ImmunizationsChildren’s immunizations must be up-to-date according tothe guidelines set forth by the Michigan Department ofHealth.
