Deputy President says Engineers make the differencein Ondo State cabinetwe have three engineers in theExecutive Council, where decisionsare taken. This helps a lotin shaping the condition of Engineeringin our State. This hashelped a lot. We want to continueto increase the numberof our members in decisionmaking positions in government.It is important that youare there where decisions aremade because when decisionsare made they take them onthe face of what they knowand of course you cannot givewhat you don’t have, that isvery important. It is very goodwe get involved up to thehighest level”The Deputy President of theNigerian Society of Engineers,Engr. Ademola Isaac Olorunfemiwho is also the Commissionerof Agriculture in OndoState has harped on the importancefor Engineer to be in positionswhere they can influencedecisions concerning infrastructureplanning and developmentsaying the use of engineers inthe Ondo state cabinet by thegovernor of the state was payingoff.The Commissioner who wasspeaking in an interview inAbuja said there were three engineersin the cabinet of DrOlusegun Mimiko and observedthat the three of them havemade meaningful contributionsand suggestions on the developmentof infrastructure in thestate.Engr. Olorunfemi said governmentshould learn to use professionalswhere their skills aremaximally tapped for the developmentof their environment." Let me inform you that thegovernment of His Excellency,Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, in OndoState has 3 commissioners inhis cabinet that are Engineers.The Commissioners for Works,who is also a Fellow, of the Society,myself, and the third personis in community development.What this means is thatOn the challenges so far onthe job, Engr.
