Hot water is a modern luxury. We’ve been designing and buildingwater heaters for over 50 years, making plentiful hot water a naturalpart of your everyday life.20 NIBE water heaters

NIBE of SwedenLiving in harmony with natureThe Swedes have a long and impressive track record of clever,money-saving innovations that use resources sparingly. The simplereason for this is that Sweden was historically a poor agrariancountry. A harsh winter climate made food scarce for manymonths, necessitating careful forward planning. Today, Sweden isa technologically advanced country with a successful economy, sothis is no longer necessary. However, the mindset continues to bemanifested in the form of fabulous, cost saving innovations.NIBE is a perfect example of the economical Swedish mind at work! The company was founded by Nils Bernerup in 1952, after a particularlycold winter. And over the last 60 years it has become Sweden’sleading supplier of domestic heating products, continuallydriving the development of ever-more efficient heating methods.Early products included water heaters and pressure vessels. In the1970s these were supplemented by electric boilers. Heat pumpsand a wide range of other heating products that meet the needsof the European markets were later added to the mix.Nowadays, NIBE is a leading player in both heating and coolingsolutions around Europe. We strive to offer innovative solutionsthat not only save energy but which also reduce CO 2emissions.Together with our customers, we’re working towards a more sustainablefuture, one home at a time.NIBE water heaters 21

Sweden’s biggest supplierof heating productsNIBE is Sweden’s biggest supplier of heating products, offering awide range of products and solutions to meet every individual need. Our range includes ground source and air/water heat pumps, domesticboilers, water heaters and a variety of other products designedto generate and distribute heat.Ground source heat pumpsGround source heat pumps extract solar energy which is stored inthe soil, bedrock or a nearby water source, to provide an environmentallyfriendly alternative for the heating of houses, apartment buildingsand other large properties. NIBE’s ground source heat pumpsare available with or without an integrated water boiler.Air/water heat pumpsAir/water heat pumps extract and upgrade the heat from the outsideair. Unlike the simpler air/air heat pumps, they can be connected tothe building’s central heating system to provide both heat and hotwater, and in some cases, cooling.Exhaust air heat pumpsExhaust air heat pumps can provide your home with heating, hotwater and ventilation. Heat is extracted from the outgoing air in theventilation system then recycled to heat the incoming air and hotwater supply.Domestic BoilersNIBE offers a range of different boilers that run oil, electricity, pelletsor wood. For those who fear dependence on one fuel source, wealso offer a combination boiler. This makes it possible for you choosethe cheapest, most plentiful source of energy at any given time.Combine your boiler with an air/water heat pump or solar panels foreven greater savings.Water HeatersNIBE has for been supplying hot water to the people of Sweden forover 50 years! In fact, over half the homes in Sweden have a waterheater from NIBE. Capacities range from 30 – 1,050 litres and featuredifferent kinds of corrosion protection to suit different geographicalareas. With such a broad range to choose from, we’re confidentthat NIBE has a model to suit your needs.Exhaust air heat pumpsGround source heat pumpsDomestic boilersWater heatersAir/water heat pumps22 NIBE water heaters

NIBE In EUROPEWith offices and distributors in several Europeancountries, NIBE is one of Europe’s leading providersof heating solutions.European Directive 20/20/20The 20/20/20 European directive imposes compulsory targets on the EU’s27 member states, specifying that 20% of energy consumption must bemet by renewable sources by 2020. Since NIBE’s heat pumps are classifiedas a renewable energy source, their installation will help member statesreach this ambitious target. And in many cases, local or regional authoritiesare offering home owners subsidies to switch their existing heating systemsto a renewable source such as a heat pump. Our products are designed to USE THE EARTHThe main energy source for NIBE heat pumps is the earth, or the ambientair or a nearby water source – one or more of which occur naturally all overthe planet and are provided free by Mother Earth. Our products are relevant ALL OVER THE EARTHSince we now offer a system with both heating and cooling functions, youcan use a NIBE heat pump anywhere, regardless of your geographic location. What do we mean by”A new generation of heatpumps – designed for earth?”Our products are designed withthe HEALTH OF THE EARTH in mindNIBE products have a very low environmental impact compared to otherheating systems currently available. They do have some impact, as do allmanufactured goods, but we are continually working to minimise this andto deliver an environmental payback in the form of reduced emissions.NIBE water heaters 23
