Liverpool is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, like the Great Wall of China and the Pyramids of Giza in Egypt. The city<br />
won the status in 2004 because of its impressive waterfront The World Heritage Site officially stretches from Albert<br />
Dock, which alone has the largest collection of Grade I listed buildings in the UK. Join us for a tour where you can<br />
spend one, two or three days exploring some of the city’s numerous attractions… the choice is yours!<br />
A recently refurbished 3★ hotel located in the heart of Liverpool. Each of the faithfully restored Edwardian-style rooms<br />
is ensuite, <strong>with</strong> TV, telephone, hairdryer and tea & coffee-making facilities. The restaurant offers a truly tempting choice<br />
menu and there are also several in-house bars and lounges in which to relax. There is a lift to all floors. Leisure facilities<br />

MONDAY – We leave the West Country and make our way north, stopping for coffee and lunch en route, arriving at<br />
our hotel in the centre of Liverpool, <strong>with</strong> time to settle in and relax before dinner.<br />
TUESDAY – The whole day is free for you to spend as you please and explore the vibrant city of Liverpool. There really<br />
is so much to see and do. It has world class culture offering <strong>with</strong> more museums and galleries anywhere outside of<br />
London and there are two majestically different Cathedrals, You can also take trip to The Beatles Story at Albert Dock;<br />
a brilliant tour through the Beatles’ lives, <strong>with</strong> fascinating Fab Four memorabilia and insights from <strong>friends</strong> and family.<br />
Maybe a City Sightseeing open top double decker tour where you can, and use your Hop On Hop Off ticket to explore<br />
the city at your own leisure. Liverpool is now bulging <strong>with</strong> fabulous new shops and restaurants. Liverpool ONE, right<br />
in the heart of the city, is the shiny new designer Liverpool shopping centre that is home to more than 160 famous high<br />
street names, from John Lewis to Top Shop. The Liverpool Queensway Mersey Tunnel tour offers an experience and<br />
an engineering masterpiece…a unique behind the scenes adventure where you will be guided beneath the River<br />
Mersey. The Yellow Duckmarine is an hour long tour, half on land and half in the water, taking in the city’s historical<br />
sights, attractions and the dockland’s maritime history <strong>with</strong> fun, live commentary. As our hotel is centrally located, you<br />
can do as much or as little sightseeing as you wish…<br />
WEDNESDAY – Today you can continue to explore the sights of Liverpool or join us as we <strong>travel</strong> a little further north<br />
to the seaside town of Southport. Affectionately referred to as the ‘Paris of the North’, it is noted for its sandy beaches<br />
and many golf courses especially Royal Birkdale. Its elegant town centre provides an array of shops to browse and<br />
restaurants to enjoy a leisurely lunch.<br />
THURSDAY – Join us this morning if you wish as we make the short journey to Chester, the county town of Cheshire<br />
<strong>with</strong> the most complete walled city in Britain. At the Visitor Centre you will find everything you need to plan a sightseeing<br />
tour. The ‘Rows’, black & white half timbered buildings above street level and covered walkways take pride of place<br />
and the famous city walls are fully walkable – originally erected by the Romans some 2,000 years ago, offering a<br />
leisurely 2-mile stroll <strong>with</strong> a bird’s eye view of both the city centre and the distant Welsh mountains. There is also the<br />
10th Century cathedral and several museums.<br />
FRIDAY– After breakfast we begin our homeward journey. Making comfort stops en route, we reach the West Country<br />
early-evening.<br />

A charming 3★ hotel, once a favoured retreat for Lord<br />
Nelson and Lady Hamilton, ideally located a short walk to<br />
the centre of Carmarthen. Sympathetically modernised to<br />

are en suite <strong>with</strong> satellite TV, hairdryer, and tea & coffee<br />
making facilities. The restaurant serves a seasonal menu<br />

Itinerary<br />
FRIDAY – We leave our home area and <strong>travel</strong> to Sanders<br />
Garden World for coffee, before continuing over the<br />
border into Wales and on to the market town of<br />
Abergavenny for lunch and time to browse the shops. We<br />
complete our journey to Carmarthen arriving at our hotel<br />
<strong>with</strong> time to settle in and relax before evening dinner.<br />
SATURDAY – After a leisurely breakfast we make our<br />
way to the picturesque harbour town of Tenby. Whilst<br />
here , you may like to visit the castle, or one of the<br />
museums There are also some lovely shops to browse<br />
and cafes to enjoy a leisurely lunch. We then make our<br />
way to Laugharne, a quiet town on the Taf Estuary where<br />
Welsh poet Dylan Thomas lived and is buried. His<br />
Boathouse and writing shed, where he wrote Under Milk<br />
Wood, are well worth a visit… as is the a teashop! We<br />
return to Carmarthen <strong>with</strong> time to take a stroll around the<br />
town or just relax before dinner and an evening at leisure.<br />
SUNDAY – Sadly we leave our hotel after breakfast and<br />
make our way to the Welsh capital, Cardiff. Whist here<br />
you may like to visit the castle and discover 2000 years<br />
of history in the heart of the city. Through the Norman<br />
Conquest to lavish Victorian design, all have left their<br />
distinctive mark on the Castle. There are also an<br />
abundance of shops to browse and restaurants to enjoy<br />
a leisurely lunch, before we complete our homeward<br />
journey back to England, arriving early-evening.<br />
