Dr Thomas Roemer<br />

Dr Thomas Roemer, born 1978, married with three children, was educated both in Germany<br />
(Erlangen-Nuremberg and Essen) and the US (University of Pittsburgh).<br />
Thomas Roemer entered Bayer in September 1999 as a trainee in the Marketing Department, becoming the<br />
assistant to a Board Member of Polyurethanes in 2003. He was named Director Sales South East Europe<br />
& MD Serbia, in Belgrade in 2005, where he stayed till 2009 when he rose to become VP Global Supply<br />
Manager Isocyanates.<br />
Since September 2011, Roemer is the VP Industry Platform Building & Construction at Bayer MaterialScience AG.<br />
Daniel Behrens<br />
Marketing Manager, Healthcare, Ticona<br />
Since October 2001, Daniel Behrens is working as Marketing Manager Healthcare Europe at Ticona,<br />
Sulzbach, offering specific “Medical Technology” Plastic compounds to support this highly dedicated<br />
market. Prior to that position he worked for an Automotive Tier 1 supplier (Kautex-Textron, Bonn) as<br />
Project manager for Plastic Blowmolded Fuel Systems (1996 <strong>–</strong> 2001). His first job was at Eppendorf<br />
GmbH, a Biotech firm specialised on liquid handling for laboratory devices and disposables within<br />
the R&D department.<br />
Having a Masters Degree in plastics engineering, Daniel Behrens combines 20 years of plastics<br />
experience with a deep market insight into the needs for plastic materials within the Healthcare Market.<br />
Hanane Taidi<br />
Head of Communications, <strong>PlasticsEurope</strong><br />
Hanane Taidi is Head of Communications in <strong>PlasticsEurope</strong>, the pan-European Association of<br />
Plastics Producers. Hanane holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Language and Literature from<br />
Ablemalik Essaadi University in Morocco and a Master of Arts in English Literature from Charles de<br />
Gaulle, Lille III University in France. For the past 13 years, she gained extensive experience working<br />
across a wide range of communication disciplines and is currently responsible for co-ordinating a<br />
multi-million euro internal and external communications programme covering 27 countries. This<br />
includes corporate communications management, co-operation with <strong>PlasticsEurope</strong>’s EU advocacy<br />
programmes and public relations; counselling and support to <strong>PlasticsEurope</strong>’s different centres of<br />
competences.<br />
Hanane is also a certified translator with the Brussels court of justice. She speaks English, French,<br />
Spanish, Arabic fluently and has a good understanding of Dutch.<br />
