The Triangle of Tolerance“Gay” apologists misrepresent the concept of tolerance to suggest that “being tolerant” requiresunconditional acceptance of all aspects of homosexual “orientation” and conduct. However, tolerancereally means “putting up with” what we don’t like in the interest of preserving civility. Theamount of tolerance we extend depends on the amount of harm or benefit society receives from thething in question. For example, as the above graph shows, we have zero tolerance for violent crime,but absolute tolerance for freedom of thought.Applying this logic, we should extend reasonably high tolerance for people who choose to publiclydisclose their homosexual “orientation,” because the social benefit we all enjoy from freedom ofspeech outweighs the harm of their disclosure. But conversely, the negative public health and moralramifications of “gay” sex outweigh any supposed social benefit associated with sexual “freedom.”Redeeming the Rainbow 114
