Les étudesfondamentales ciblent principalementl’intégrité de l’ADN et les processus dematuration des ARNs. Ainsi, les chercheursexplorent la contribution de certainesprotéines dans la biogénèse destélomères, la réparation de l’ADN, l’instabilitégénétique, de même que les mécanismesde maturation d’ARNs encodantdes protéines qui jouent un rôle clé dansces processus. Ils se proposent d’explorerles interactions entre ces divers mécanismesafin de permettre l’émergencede stratégies communes destinées à combattrele cancer.
