United Way provides the
resources for individual
organizations.
Every hour of every day, hundreds of people need essential human
services—they are looking for training, employment, food pantries, help
for an aging parent, addiction prevention programs for their teenage
children, affordable housing options, support groups and ways of
becoming part of their community.
United Way’s 2-1-1 service allows people to give help and to get help
24 hours a day, 365 days a year. United Way 2-1-1 was created in 1976 as
a public/private partnership of United Way and the State of Connecticut.

Dial 2-1-1 and an operator will assist you. Multilingual caseworkers
are onhand, and TDD access is available.

Visit www.211ct.org and search by category, town, agency name, and
a number of other search options.
2-1-1 NAVIGATOR
Visit navigator.211ct.org and complete an anonymous two minute
questionnaire to determine if you’re eligible for 24 different state
and federal aid programs.
Greater Danbury Nonprofit Resource Center
The Greater Danbury Nonprofit Resource Center is a program of UWWC and
plays an important role in building capacity for the nonprofit community. The
GDNRC serves the communities of Bethel, Bridgewater, Brookfield, Danbury,
New Fairfield, New Milford, Newtown, Redding, Ridgefield and Sherman.
Their mission is to strengthen nonprofit performance and impact in Greater
Danbury by:
• Increasing communication among nonprofits, resource providers
and funders
• Providing local, high quality education and training experiences
• Providing organizational assessment and planning services
• Matching volunteers with professional skills to local nonprofits
