• Member <strong>of</strong> the MTNA National Subcommittee on collaborative arts; purpose<br />

to publish a national directory <strong>of</strong> ensemble pianists and collaborative artists as a<br />

networking resource for educational programs, including elementary through<br />

university level, as well as for independent teachers in private studios; also to<br />

promote recognition <strong>of</strong> the importance <strong>of</strong> degree programs in collaborative arts,<br />

to encourage the study <strong>of</strong> ensemble repertoire at every level <strong>of</strong> applied studies,<br />

and to develop skills <strong>of</strong> the collaborative artist as a performer and teacher<br />

• Co-presider and presenter for one <strong>of</strong> four panel discussions on the ensemble<br />

pianist and a panel participant in the other three <strong>of</strong> four panels for the MTNA<br />

National Convention; duties included identifying and inviting potential<br />

panelists for each <strong>of</strong> the four sessions, introducing panelists and providing<br />

introductory remarks for the session to which I was assigned as a co-presider.<br />

In addition, I participated as a member <strong>of</strong> the other three panels, Wyndham<br />

Anatole Hotel, Dallas, Texas, 6 April 1997<br />

• Panelist with a five-member group; in addition to the above, the subcommittee<br />

hosted an informal two-hour session at the MTNA National Convention to discuss<br />

the future <strong>of</strong> the ensemble pianist in education and performance including<br />

curriculum development, Wyndham Anatole Hotel, Dallas, Texas, 7 April 1997<br />

with on-going project [2002 to present], including faculty Cindy Dewey, Chair <strong>of</strong><br />

Voice/<strong>Opera</strong> and Lynn Jemison-Keisker, <strong>Director</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Opera</strong> Theatre; quartet is<br />

currently service community outreach with no credit assigned<br />

• Utah Public Radio, interview with Tom Williams for USU <strong>Opera</strong> Theatre<br />

2005-2006 season productions <strong>of</strong> Smetana’s THE BARTERED BRIDE and<br />

Moore’s THE BALLAD OF BABY DOE, and follow-up interview for broadcast<br />

<strong>of</strong> USU <strong>Opera</strong> Theatre November 2004 performance <strong>of</strong> de Falla’s, LA VIDA<br />

• <strong>Opera</strong> Alumni Guest Soloists visit with current Utah State University <strong>Opera</strong><br />

Theatre students for career insights and question/answer session; Tamara<br />

Mumford (2003; Metropolitan <strong>Opera</strong> Lindemann Young Artist program) and<br />

Michael Chipman (1997); New York City based eclectic career in concert,<br />
