• Graduate student, Stephanie Kimbrough, soprano, was introduced to the LSU<br />

<strong>Opera</strong> program through our performance at the National <strong>Opera</strong> Association’s<br />

national convention in Dallas, Texas <strong>of</strong> Richard Owen’s MARY DYER on<br />

1 February 1997. She requested information, asked questions about our opera<br />

program and was introduced to Kirkpatrick <strong>Pr<strong>of</strong>essor</strong> Robert Grayson, Chair and<br />

several <strong>of</strong> our students performing that day; she registered in the LSU graduate<br />

program<br />

• Performances given at McKinley High School, Baton Rouge High School<br />

and LSU University Laboratory School have encouraged several students<br />

to apply and subsequently enroll in the LSU <strong>Opera</strong> Theatre program<br />

• Promotion <strong>of</strong> the LSU College <strong>of</strong> Music and Dramatic Arts is ongoing with<br />

community outreach performances, recitals and productions with other<br />
