In Touch Launch in North America The Philips Dynalite range of lighting and energy management solutions has been launched in North America by Philips Lighting. During a nine-city tour of the USA in the first half of 2010, the Dynalite system was met with great enthusiasm by specifiers, lighting designers and electrical contractors. “All the feedback indicates that this is the solution the market has been looking for,” said Michael Soganich, Manager Business Development – Controls, Philips Lighting Electronics. “We have been able to fast track our launch through the Philips Lighting organisation, with all UL/FCC approvals achieved on the first pass, with the support of the Global Competence Centre in Sydney.” According to Soganich, companies are increasing their focus on lighting energy management, owing to new standards by the 2 | Lightnews Vol 10 During a nine-city tour of the USA, the Dynalite range was met with great enthusiasm. Four new EMEA distributors appointed Paul Wilmshurst, Business Development Director for Philips Dynalite’s European Central Application Group, welcomes AWE (top) and TopAudio (bottom) to the fold. Philips Dynalite has appointed four new value-added resellers (VARs) in the Europe, Middle-East and Africa (EMEA) region. Each a leading AV and integrated systems distributor in their region, Israel’s Top Audio, Germany’s audionetwork, and Malta’s Doublesin & Zammit will now be the primary source in their respective countries of Philips Dynalite systems for the custom installation, residential and commercial sectors. In addition, the UK’s AWE Europe will now be the exclusive source of Philips Dynalite systems for the UK custom installation and residential sectors. The AWE team will complement Philips Lighting’s UK Country Sales Unit, which will focus on integrated lighting and energy management solutions for the commercial and hospitality sectors, as well as large-scale projects. “We very much look forward to growing our business relationships with these four companies,” said Paul Wilmshurst, Business Development Director for Philips Dynalite’s European Central Application Group. “They each have a tremendous reputation in the local AV and custom installation sector, and with sub-dealer networks already established are in the ideal position to bring our solutions to the widest possible audience. We welcome them to the fold as VARs.” The Philips Dynalite range is an addition to the Philips Pronto portfolio handled by most of these distributors.

Hands-on LED experience at Light+Building 2010 At the recent Light+Building exhibition in Frankfurt, Philips Dynalite showcased its lighting control expertise, playing a key role in the demonstration of some of the latest Philips LED lighting technologies. Philips Dynalite operator interfaces, touch screens and keypads were used to configure and operate Philips Lighting’s ‘Technology Cube’ interactive exhibition-floor displays, providing attendees with technical insight and valuable hands-on experience. Commercial and office lighting applications, as well as the quest for sustainability, were a major focus at this years’ exhibition. Here, Philips Dynalite provided insight into the role of fully integrated lighting control systems in delivering advanced levels of controllability and energy efficiency. On the other side of the world, Philips Dynalite was represented by the company’s value-added reseller, Bridges Electronics, at the Light+Building exhibition in Guangzhou, China. Philips Dynalite took part in the CEDIA Home Technology Event in London. CEDIA showcase Philips Dynalite recently exhibited at two Custom Electronic Design and Installation Association (CEDIA) exhibitions on opposite sides of the globe, taking part in the CEDIA Home Technology Event in London (15-17 June) and CEDIA Expo in Melbourne (23-25 June). At both events, the main focus was demonstrating the company’s integration expertise and leading portfolio of lighting control and automation solutions. Philips Dynalite showcased a wide range of control system elements and software that enable advanced levels of lighting control and seamless integration with third-party control systems.
