On behalf of the sale consignors, I would like to welcome you to the 2012 North Dakota Simmental Association Classic Sale! 2012 

marks the 41st Anniversary of the North Dakota Simmental Association, and many of the consignor’s involved stem from families that 

were involved from the start. 

This sale has developed a reputation for being a source of some of the top Simmental/SimAngus genetics available in the land. The 

offering was selected from the heart of some of the top programs in the upper Midwest! The cowherds represented in this offering 

present some of the top bull sales in the country each and every year! 

2012 has proven to be a very challenging year for many throughout the country because of drought, high corn, etc. With that said, as 

I traveled I have to say North Dakota got through it as well as any state. On the upside there has never been a better time to be in the 

beef Industry! The cow numbers are at an all time low and we continue to see record prices for feeder calves. Commercial producers 

all over are searching for top-end genetics to use in their programs to take advantage of the times. As seedstock producers you will 

find the offering of this sale provides the source for those top-end bulls and females that will assist you in providing those genetics to 

your customers. 

If you are looking for bred heifers to produce bulls for the commercial and seedstock industry this offering has many opportunities for 

you. The open heifers in the offering will be outstanding show heifer prospects for Junior programs. There will be something to fit your

Sale will be holding a junior futurity show in conjunction with the 

ND State Fair show. All open females sold in these two sales 

will be eligible to compete at the ND State Fair in July 2012. The 

number of entries determines the number of classes. The show 

will be immediately following the NDJSA Show. The Champion and 

Reserve Champion will receive monetary prizes. 

The only other requirement to compete in the futurity 

show is that you are a member of the ND Junior Simmental 

Association and the cost of the membership is $5.00. We hope to 

see you at the ND State Fair and good luck!
