Marc Kligman wears his yarmulke and tzitzit for the entire baseball world
to see and it has served him well. In the highly competitive and cutthroat
business of athlete representation, Marc has set himself apart from the
competition by his strict observance to Torah law. He schleps his clients
to kosher restaurants all over the country and counsels them with the
precepts he has learned from Torah. No matter what small town or big
city venue Marc finds himself in while he is out servicing or recruiting
clients, a story always unfolds with the people he encounters.
Marc was born in Philadelphia and
grew up in a relatively secular family
in Stamford, Connecticut. Besides his
day school education through sixth
grade, the Kligman family did not
have much other Jewish influence.
Marc attended a secular high school
in Stamford graduating with high
honors and earning 10 varsity letters
in football, basketball, and baseball.
Marc attended The Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland,
graduating in the top quarter of his class while earning a Bachelor of Arts
degree in both International Relations and Hispanic and Italian Studies.
While at Johns Hopkins, Marc played varsity baseball, worked as an
Admissions Representative, and was a brother in the Alpha Delta Phi
fraternity. After college, Marc went directly to law school and
graduated with cum laude honors from Tulane University School
of Law in New Orleans, Louisiana. It was during his law school
years through a connection with Chabad at Tulane that the
Jewish spark inside of him began to flicker again and he began to
embrace a more observant life.
Moshe Kligman’s words and stories of his experiences as a observant baseball agent were truly inspiring and meaningful to my
congregants when he spoke at our shul. He is dynamic and articulate speaker who knows how to connect to his audience.
