Admission Information for Postgraduate Programs at Beihang - UPV

About the Program
Overseas students, who wish to study for Master’s Degree and Doctoral Degree at Beihang University
(BUAA), will be welcome to apply for Postgraduate Programs at Beihang University sponsored by the
Chinese Government Scholarships. The Chinese Government Scholarships is a scholarship program that
covers tuition fees, living allowance, normal medical service, comprehensive insurance, etc., but not
international travel expenses.
Master and Ph.D studies supported by the program will begin in early September 2012 at Beihang
University. The total duration of study is 2-3 years for master programs and 3- 4 years for PhD programs.

For master programs, candidates are required to have a bachelor’s degree and should be under the age
of 35 and for Doctoral programs, candidates should hold a master’s degree and be under the age of 40.
Applicants should have a good command of English or Chinese and the ability to take courses in English
or Chinese.
Required Documents
1. Application Form for Chinese Government Scholarship (to be filled online);

Applicants are required to apply for the Scholarship online first through the website of China Scholarship
Council (http://laihua.csc.edu.cn) by filling up the Application Form as required. Please note that the “Agency
No.” of Beihang University is 10006. While submitting an electronic application online, applicants are
required to provide a hard copy of the application form generated from the online application system.
2. Highest education diploma (notarized photocopy or original one) or certificate of expected graduation
date from University studying in now;
3. Notarized or original copies of transcripts;
4. A study or research plan (no less than 500 words);
5. Two recommendation letters from professors or experts;
6. Photocopy of Foreigner Physical Examination Form and the Report on Blood Examination;
7. TOEFL, IELTS or HSK (Chinese Proficiency Test) test results, or English and Chinese proficiency
certificates, if holding.
All documents required should be in Chinese or English or provided with translations in Chinese or
English.

Application Procedures
� Please first visit the website of the International School of Beihang University
(http://is.buaa.edu.cn/CSCScholarship2011.html) for program and course information;
� Instruction language will be English or Chinese. Applicants are required to choose instruction
language on the Application Form. A one-year Chinese training program will be arranged for students
who are not able to take courses in English and wish to take their courses in Chinese;
� Applications documents are required to be sent before March 20, 2012 to:
Ms. GAO Xia, International School, Beihang University, 37 Xueyuan Road, Haidian District, Beijing
100191, China.
� Meanwhile, a list of recommended candidates is required to be emailed to intnl.beihang@gmail.com
by home university.
� Final admission results will be announced before June 1, 2012 and formal admission documents will
be mailed to successful applicants in mid-July, 2012.
About Beihang University
Beihang University (BUAA), formerly known as Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, was
founded in 1952. It was the first university of aeronautical and astronautical engineering in China. Not
long after it was founded, Beihang was recognised as one of China’s sixteen key universities and since
then the government of China has made support of Beihang University a priority. Today Beihang has
developed into a research university with a strong focus on aeronautics and astronautics. At present,
