Ready-to-use, radiopaque, pre-mixed paste<br />

PROPERTIES<br />

Calcium Hydroxide <strong>Paste</strong> "<strong>Cavity</strong> <strong>Liner</strong>" is a creamy paste used as a liner or as a temporary<br />

dressing. Due to its alkaline pH (~12), Calcium Hydroxide neutralizes the free acids of the<br />

obturating cements and of the restorative materials. It reduces the hypersensitivity of the<br />

dentine and helps the neo<strong>for</strong>mation of secondary dentine.<br />

INDICATIONS<br />

As a liner:<br />

• Pulp capping on vital pulp (indirect capping)<br />

• Capping after pulpotomy (direct capping)<br />

• <strong>Cavity</strong> lining be<strong>for</strong>e filling As a dressing<br />

As a Temporary Dressing:<br />

• Root-canal treatment and periapical therapy.<br />

COMPOSITION<br />

1 ml of paste contains 540 mg Calcium Hydroxide and 70 mg Barium Sulfate in a<br />

Methylcellulose base<br />

<strong>Directions</strong> <strong>for</strong> <strong>Use</strong>:<br />

As a temporary Dressing:<br />

• Prepare the canal meticulously and fill it with the paste<br />

• Seal the opening with a cement<br />

• Where necessary repeat the operation after one month<br />

Pulp Capping:<br />

• Make sure the pulp is vital. Where necessary, treat with an antibiotic.<br />

• Cap with the paste and allow to dry<br />

• Remove any residue with an excavator


<strong>Cavity</strong> Lining:<br />

• Clean the cavity thoroughly<br />

• Apply the paste<br />

• Remove any residue<br />

• Apply filling material directly on the liner<br />

<strong>Cavity</strong> <strong>Liner</strong> –Calcium Hydroxide paste is easily removed with an endodontic file and a few<br />

drops of water. After each use wash the cap with water and recap the syringe immediately<br />

without drying. The applicator tips can also be washed and sterilized.
