George (Geo) Atherton is the owner/artist of<br />
Geoglyphiks. Designing as a transformational<br />
tool, his works are based on the belief that<br />
what we hold in our minds eventually happens.<br />
He says, “In my art, I work with visions<br />
of a harmonious, ecologically thriving world<br />
and awakened states of being, in the hope that<br />
viewers of my work will joyfully manifest these<br />
states of being in their own lives.”<br />
Commissioned for the Mahabhuta Yoga<br />
Festival, this piece commemorates the Year of<br />
the Dragon and the powers of nature that sculpt<br />
our world, represented by the Chinese dragon<br />
archetype. In the yogic tradition, each of the<br />
four lower chakras represents one of the four<br />
classical elements. Through dedicated personal<br />
practice, the dragon or serpent power rises<br />
through the chakras, purifying their elements<br />
and opening the path to Akashic realms of<br />
consciousness. May this mythos inspire us to<br />
heal those same elements in the macrocosm of<br />
our natural world that we may bask upon the<br />
Heavenly Earth-Geo Atherton.<br />
