1 General<br />

In 2013 the Royal Netherlands Air Force will organize the twelfth edition in the<br />

series of Joint Project Optic Windmill (JPOW), namely JP0W13. JPOW13 is<br />

scheduled for the 2nd Quarter of 2013 and will be held at Air Force Base De Peel<br />

(AFBDP) in the Netherlands and at Air Base Ramstein (ABR) in Germany.<br />

In order to ensure a proper planning and execution cycle of JPOW13 the Project<br />

Office (P0) JPOW and the Combined Exercise Planning Staff (CEPS) will organize<br />

a series of events. The next event will be the Initial Planning Conference (IPC)<br />

where the participating nations, units and organizations will further prepare their<br />

integration into the exercise.<br />

2 Objectives IPC<br />

The main objectives for the IPC are:<br />

- Determine the objectives of the participating nations, units and<br />

organizations, based upon the main objectives:<br />

- Determine the level of participation:<br />

- Identify the Concept Development proposals.<br />

The POC of the participating nations, units and organizations are kindly requested<br />

to present this during the IPC (See 6 (preliminary) Agenda). The P0 JPOW will<br />

have the relevant documents send to the respective POC before 9 July 2011.<br />

3 Attendees<br />

Since the total number of participants should, preferably, not exceed 100 people,<br />

Invitees/ POC are kindly requested to be restrictive in inviting Subject Matter<br />

Experts within their areas of responsibility. As an example, during the IPC<br />

logistical requirements (food, finance, lodging etc.) during the JPOW execution<br />

phase will not be identified. The process and way ahead however, will be<br />

explained by the respective hosting nations. New entities (weapon systems) are<br />

kindly requested to bring an Interoperability SME.<br />

Visitor requests must be coordinated through your national organizational security<br />

agencies and embassies (if appllcable). Date<br />

7.2 Security Clearance<br />

Attendees should have their valid Security Clearance at hand, during the IPC.<br />

7.3 Conference Fee<br />

There will be a Conference Fee of 60 Euros, to be paid in cash during the in<br />

processing (Card Payments will not be possible). The Conference Fee will include<br />

coffee, tea and refreshments during the IPC and an Ice Breaker on Tuesday<br />

evening.<br />

For an additional 6, - Euros per day you will have the option to have lunch at the<br />

<strong>IABG</strong> facility on Tuesday and Wednesday, which is recommended by both the<br />

<strong>IABG</strong> and P0 JPOW (see point 3 under registration). The use of the (regular)<br />

<strong>IABG</strong> cafeteria for lunch is not possible, due to organizational reasons.<br />

7.4 Social Event<br />

There will be an optional Social Event, City Tour to the centre of Munich, on<br />

Wednesday evening organized by the <strong>IABG</strong>. This tour will cost approximately 45<br />

Euros (ificluding drinks and diner) and will only take place if sufficient people<br />

have registered for this event (point 5 under registration). For further information<br />
