at the ICCKC Agility Trials in Caldwell.
Agility classes will be starting April 18th.
We still need volunteers to teach the foundation class (contacts and
tunnels) and the intermediate class.

I. Call to order
Frank M. called to order the Board/General Meeting of the Upper Snake River Valley Dog
Training club at 7:24 p.m. on March 16, 2012.

II. Approval of minutes from last meeting
Glenda H. motioned to dispense with the reading of February’s meeting minutes. The
minutes were approved as printed in the newsletter. Steven O. seconded, motion approved.
III. Report from the Board
President, Frank M. Nothing at this time.
Vice President, Deborah N. Reservations for the club’s summer picnic have been set for
July 19, 2012 at Tautphaus Park so mark your calendars. The next two club meetings will be
held at Smitty’s.
Treasurer, John B. Reviewed the balance sheet from the period of 02/16/2012 through
03/13/2012.
Secretary, Pat S. Nothing at this time.
Suzanne motioned to adjourn the Board Meeting. Pat S. seconded, motion approved.
IV. Committee Reports
Canine Good Citizen Test will be 03/21/2012 at the 4-H Building starting at 6:00 p.m. Many
thanks to those who have volunteered to help – very appreciated!

LaDawn and Suzanne said everything is set for Agility Trials 03/23/2012 through
03/25/2012. Still need volunteers especially with setting up and taking down. Hospitality is
covered by Frank M. and trophies are covered by Rochelle M.
Tracking class starts 04/14/2012 through 06/02/2012 at 9:00 a.m. at Freeman Park.
Agility class starts 04/18/2012 through 06/06/2012 at Tautphaus. Cheryl L. is the new
Agility Director.
Webmaster – Jeff S. has the USRVDTC website updated. If anyone has anything they need
to be posted on the website, please e-mail Jeff and he will post it. There have been
problems with the Facebook page and John B. suggested Jeff contact the Eastern Idaho
Retriever Club to get some ideas. Jeff has been in contact with them and they have had the
same problems, but have given some helpful hints. Jeff will send out e-mails to everyone
with hints.
V. New Business
New Applications: (will vote at next meeting in April)
1. Christine Mahoney with Jude, an 8 mo old German Shepherd and Echo, a 5-6 yr old
German Shepherd.
2. Sunny Grant with Elite, a 7 yr old Borzoi and two 6 mos. old Borzoi puppies named Rosie
and Sassy.
Discussion brought up by Frank and Pat S. regarding the possibility of voting in a third
evaluator. Discussed the possibility of the Club paying the application fee and yearly fees
for the evaluators. Frank, Jeff, and Pat will get together and discuss potential candidates
and details, and then put to a vote at April meeting.
VI. Unfinished Business
A new trailer has been purchased (the used one from Mackay). It will need a new hitch. At
this time, Doug is in charge of the trailer. Still unsure of where the trailer will be stored.
VII. Motion to Adjourn
Motion to adjourn general meeting made by Glenda H. Steven O. seconded and meeting
adjourned.

On Friday, Drift earned his Novice Fast title, Queenie earned a second place leg in Novice Fast
Preferred in her agility debut, and Sage earned his Open JWW Preferred title and his second leg
in Open Standard Preferred. On Saturday, Sage earned his first Excellent JWW Preferred leg
and finished his Open Standard Preferred title.
Crufts Obedience
Congrats USA! Petra Ford and Tyler were the individual winners at the 2012 Crufts Obedience

Lori Drouin will be presenting a competition obedience seminar in Boise on May 5th and 6th.

Potential Food Warning
I received an email a few weeks ago regarding possible food contamination. The email
described the deaths of dogs that had consumed Kirkland Lamb & Rice canned dog food. The
expiration date on the food was June 23, 2013. This is an unconfirmed report, so I am including
this as a cautionary alert for anyone who might be feeding this food.

Therapy Dog Certification
If you feel that you may be interested in becoming a volunteer team with Intermountain
Therapy Animals, there is a workshop May 19 th and 20 th in Idaho Falls.
