You have a right to comment on your care, and to have your<br />

concerns addressed. <strong>Healthcare</strong> ser<strong>vic</strong>es should make<br />

<strong>in</strong>formation about their feedback processes easy to f<strong>in</strong>d.<br />

You have a right to comment, ask questions and make compla<strong>in</strong>ts<br />

about your <strong>health</strong> care.<br />

It is always best to try to resolve concerns with your <strong>health</strong>care<br />

provider first. <strong>Healthcare</strong> ser<strong>vic</strong>es want to solve problems quickly,<br />

but need to know about the problem first. Try to provide feedback<br />

<strong>in</strong> a way that respects other consumers and <strong>health</strong>care providers.<br />

<strong>Healthcare</strong> ser<strong>vic</strong>es record positive and negative feedback,<br />

for example through surveys, feedback and compla<strong>in</strong>ts processes.<br />

Your feedback should be used to improve ser<strong>vic</strong>es <strong>in</strong> the future.<br />

In a hospital, if you are unsatisfied with how your doctor<br />

or treatment team is respond<strong>in</strong>g to your concerns, you have<br />

a right to speak to the hospital’s patient representative.<br />

If you are not satisfied with how your <strong>health</strong>care ser<strong>vic</strong>e or patient<br />

representative is respond<strong>in</strong>g to your concerns, you have a right<br />

to compla<strong>in</strong> to the Victorian Health Ser<strong>vic</strong>es Commissioner.<br />
