2012 MILESTONES REACHED, continued<br />
• Joined Marvin Harrison as the only players in NFL history to record<br />
three seasons with more than 100 receptions and 1,500 receiving<br />
yards. Hall of Famer Jerry Rice is the only other player with multiple<br />
100-1,500 seasons in his career.<br />
• Recorded his 17th career game with 10 or more receptions and 100<br />
or more yards, the most in NFL history. He had three such games this<br />
season.<br />
• Set an NFL record with his 18th career game with 10 or more receptions<br />
when he had 12 for 141 yards in Week 17 at Indianapolis.<br />
• Became the third-fastest player to reach 11,000 career receiving<br />
yards, doing so with a 151-yard effort in his 136th career game vs.<br />
Indianapolis in Week 15.<br />
• Became the sixth-fastest player in NFL history to reach 10,000 yards<br />
receiving vs. Green Bay in Week 6.<br />
• Became the second-fastest player to reach 800 career receptions on<br />
his first catch of the game in Week 16 vs. Minnesota.<br />
• Caught the 750th pass of his career when he hauled in an 8-yard pass<br />
in the second quarter at Chicago in Week 10.<br />
• Had the ninth-most receiving yards in a game in modern NFL history<br />
and the most since 2000 with 273 vs. Jacksonville in Week 11. The<br />
last receiver with more yards in a game was Jacksonville WR Jimmy<br />
Smith, who had 291 vs. Baltimore on 9/10/2000.<br />
• Gained 461 receiving yards in a two-game span in Week 11 vs. Jacksonville<br />
and at Detroit in Week 12. That two-game total is the most in<br />
NFL history by a player in consecutive games.<br />
• Became the first player in Texans history to play 10 seasons with the<br />
team when he took the field vs. Miami in Week 1 and became the<br />
franchise’s all-time leader in career games played in Week 7 vs. Baltimore.<br />

• Set the franchise single-season punting record with an average of<br />
47.2 yards per punt on 88 attempts.<br />
• Placed his 200th career punt downed inside the opponent’s 20-yard<br />
line in Week 2 at Jacksonville.<br />
OLB WHITNEY MERCILUS<br />
• Tied the franchise rookie sack record with 6.0, reaching the milestone<br />
in Week 14 at New England. He tied the record set by OLB Brooks<br />
Reed in 2011.<br />
C CHRIS MYERS<br />
• Extended his streak of consecutive games started to 80 as a member<br />
of the Texans and 96 overall.<br />
QB MATT SCHAUB<br />
• Tied for the second-most passing yards in a game in NFL history with<br />
527 vs. Jacksonville in Week 11. Houston Oilers QB Warren Moon<br />
threw for 527 vs. Kansas City on 12/16/90.<br />
• Tied for the second-most completions in a game in NFL history with 43<br />
vs. Jacksonville in Week 11. The last player to do so was Oakland QB<br />
Rich Gannon on 9/15/02 at Pittsburgh.<br />
• Topped 20,000 career passing yards when he hit WR Andre Johnson<br />
for a 45-yard gain on the third play of the game vs. Jacksonville in<br />
Week 11.<br />
• Set a franchise record with five touchdown passes vs. Jacksonville in<br />

career. He topped the milestone on a 21-yard pass to WR Andre<br />
Johnson in the second quarter at Tennessee in Week 13.<br />
• Completed his 1,500th career pass when he hit TE Owen Daniels for<br />
a 6-yard gain in the second quarter in Week 2 at Jacksonville.<br />
• Threw his 100th career touchdown pass in Week 3 at Denver, a 60-<br />
yard scoring strike to WR Andre Johnson in the first quarter.<br />
• Threw his 100th touchdown pass as a Texan on a 34-yarder to TE<br />
Owen Daniels in the first quarter at the New York Jets in Week 5.<br />
• Surpassed 4,000 yards passing for the third time in his career.<br />
DE ANTONIO SMITH<br />
• Notched his 20th sack as a Texan and his fifth of the season when<br />
he dropped Tennessee QB Jake Locker for a 9-yard loss in the third<br />
quarter at Tennessee in Week 13.<br />
• Set a career high with 7.0 sacks for the season.<br />
LG WADE SMITH<br />
• Started the 75th game of his career at Chicago in Week 10.<br />
RB BEN TATE<br />
• Surpassed 1,000 career rushing yards on a 7-yard carry in the third<br />
quarter in Week 2 at Jacksonville.<br />
WR KEVIN WALTER<br />
• Caught his 300th pass as a Texan in Week 6 vs. Green Bay.<br />
• Surpassed 4,000 receiving yards as a Texan on an 18-yard catch in<br />
the fourth quarter at Tennessee in Week 13.<br />
DE JJ WATT<br />
• Led the NFL with 20.5 sacks and became the ninth player in NFL history<br />
to record 20 or more sacks in a season.<br />
• Set an NFL record for passes defensed in a season by a defensive<br />
lineman at Tennessee in Week 13. Watt finished the season with 16<br />
passes defensed to surpass White’s record of 13, set in 1991.<br />
• Joined Hall of Fame DE Reggie White as the only players in NFL<br />
history to record 15 or more sacks and 13 passes defensed in a season<br />
in Week 13 at Tennessee. White had 15.0 sacks and 13 passes<br />
defensed in 1991.<br />
• Accounted for 95 plays for zero or negative yards.<br />
• Tied a franchise record with sacks in each of the first six games of the<br />
season.<br />
• Broke the Texans single-season sack record on his third sack of the<br />
game at Detroit in Week 12. The sack gave him 14.5 on the year, topping<br />
the previous mark of 14.0 by Mario Williams in 2007.<br />
• Tied the franchise record with four forced fumbles in the season, all of<br />
which came in four consecutive games, from Weeks 13-16.<br />
