CABS CENTRE<br />

Good communication ability, both oral &written, Adequate group discussion<br />

pr<strong>of</strong>iciency, persuasion and negotiation skills, leadership and team building<br />

aptitude , Strong positive outlook and good moral and human values in addition<br />

to domain knowledge are very important for practicing mangers.<br />

Some years ago parents rarely gave any importance to personality development<br />

<strong>of</strong> their children. Emphasis was given only on physical appearance and expertise<br />

in work. But now the time has changed. It is an age <strong>of</strong> competition and economic<br />

revolution. Although opportunities <strong>of</strong> progress are everywhere yet a student has<br />

to work very hard to climb the stairs <strong>of</strong> a brilliant career. The person having a<br />

good personality, leadership skills and self motivation can move through the<br />

difficulties with more confidence.<br />

At <strong>Kanpur</strong> <strong>Institute</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Management</strong> <strong>Studies</strong>, CABS Centre aims at the overall<br />

development <strong>of</strong> the student. Proper emphasis is laid down to extracurricular<br />

actives like sports. Music, Quiz competition, personality grooming sessions,<br />

vocabulary building and effective communication skills to enable the students to<br />

face the corporate challenges.

Class Rooms<br />

K-IMS surely realizes the fact that Class Rooms are the most<br />

important place where the career and future <strong>of</strong> students take shape and<br />

therefore it has provided for sufficient Air Conditioned Classrooms <strong>of</strong> 400-<br />

900 Square feet each, well equipped with LCD Projectors and Wi-Fi<br />

equipments and ergonomically designed seats and desks.<br />

Library<br />

Libraries are the nerve centers <strong>of</strong> academic life <strong>of</strong> an educational campus.<br />

Housed in spacious halls, the Library is well stocked with thousands <strong>of</strong> text<br />

books, technical journals, periodicals, reference material and digital media for<br />

comprehensive learning and research.


Computer Centre<br />

K-IMS recognizes the key role that IT plays in teaching as well as<br />

research. Therefore, IT is committed to provide computing facilities <strong>of</strong> the<br />

highest standards. A high-speed optical fiber network <strong>of</strong> 12 Mbps with wireless<br />

redundancy allows all students to access a range <strong>of</strong> services across our entire<br />

campus. This is complemented by latest educational, computational and research<br />

application s<strong>of</strong>tware's.<br />

Campus Facilities<br />

Games & Sports K-IMS students enjoy costless access to<br />

various sporting facilities such as basketball courts, badminton & tennis courts,<br />

football and a cricket field. Billiards, Table Tennis and few other indoor games<br />

give a wide choice for physical and mental wellbeing. Students can also benefit<br />

from pr<strong>of</strong>essional coaching available inside the campus


Hostels<br />

K-IMS takes special care <strong>of</strong> all necessary requirements in hostel for the<br />

development and growth <strong>of</strong> a student. We ensure that the child gets the homely<br />

feeling, with the best amenities and the desire to study hard more in a friendly<br />

atmosphere. Hygienic environment maintains good health <strong>of</strong> our students and<br />

Industry Interface<br />

Industry Interface is perhaps the most critical differentiator for management<br />

institutions worldwide. KIMS gives due recognition to this fact. In addition to<br />

the conventional methods <strong>of</strong> developing corporate interface such as the public<br />

relations work, organizing guest lectures and seminars, industrial visits, etc,<br />

leading to the placement <strong>of</strong> students, the institute strongly believes in<br />

establishing a firm foundation for corporate interface through some innovative<br />

Placements<br />

The activities <strong>of</strong> the Placement Committee include coordinating for the Summer<br />

Internship Program, the Lateral Recruitment Program & the Campus<br />

Recruitment Program. It corresponds with the prospective employers, arranges<br />

Pre-Placement Talks and Personal Interviews on campus and provides all the<br />

facilities required by the visiting companies. The entire process is governed by<br />

the student's ability and performance, as well as the requirements and norms <strong>of</strong><br />

the Industry.<br />

The Cell plays a vital role in providing various training programs both in-house<br />

and out-house - workshops, seminars, industry visit, personality development<br />

programs, etc. to imbibe in the students and make them acquaintance with the<br />

corporate culture and the practical implication <strong>of</strong> the various theoretical subjects.<br />

The Cell maintains a close liaison with the Industry and other employers in order<br />

to facilitate the placement <strong>of</strong> the students. Moreover, the Cell tries to arrange<br />

interaction <strong>of</strong> the students with pr<strong>of</strong>essionals from Industry regularly so as to<br />

provide them with first-hand knowledge <strong>of</strong> the industry. .

PLACEMENT PROCEDURE<br />

Companies are invited to K IMS campus by the Placement Cell / the companies<br />

can contact the K IMS Placement Officer for their requirement. To the<br />

responding companies, the details <strong>of</strong> the final year students opting for placement<br />

are sent as per their requirement.<br />

* The companies have an option to go for the campus recruitment<br />

* The company is assigned a convenient date.<br />

* After confirmation by the company, a pre-placement talk is arranged on the<br />

date.<br />

* The company conducts test and/or group discussion to short list the interested<br />

students.<br />

* The short listed students are then interviewed for final selection by the<br />

company.<br />

* The result is usually announced on the same day or within 2 – 3 days.<br />
