The Town of Collingwood, Department of
Parks, Recreation and Culture (PRC) strives
to enhance the quality of life and promote
healthy living in Collingwood by providing access
to a wide range of recreational, cultural and
active living opportunities. PRC facilitates sport,
recreation and culture initiatives throughout the
community. Our department provides exciting
opportunities in our parks, trail system, indoor and
outdoor sports facilities, along our waterfront and
in our harbour on Georgian Bay.
What we do…
• Permit special events
• Organize community events
• Partner with the Collingwood Elvis Festival
• Access local history at the Collingwood museum
• Promote arts & culture activities in the
community
• Provide access to public art
• Develop and maintain a public art plan and
policy
• Offer public swimming and learn-to-swim
lessons
• Provide recreational skating opportunities both
indoor and outdoor
• Maintain and permit town-owned recreational
facilities
• Provide public access to 24 parks
• Sustain 50 km of the Collingwood Trails Network
• Accommodate and support all users of
Collingwood’s waterfront and harbour
• Facilitate the Community Recreation and Culture
Grant Program and In-Kind Grant Program

Welcome to Collingwood’s Spring Community Activity Guide!
Whether you are a long time resident, a new community
member, or a visitor to Collingwood, you will understand
the warmth and hospitality for which Collingwood is so
well known. Collingwood is rich in history and heritage
architecture which we are proud to see lending to our community’s vibrancy.
Did you also know what an abundance of recreational and community activities
Collingwood has to provide?
Collingwood is home to a great number of recreational and cultural service
providers, activities for all ages, a wide array of programs and events, many
churches, and a tremendous business community supporting our recreational
and cultural endeavours.
Our location along the shoreline of Georgian Bay provides the young and old
with access to the largest freshwater area in the world. Our waterfront has an
exciting landscape whether you are boating, or fishing for trout, you will not be
disappointed.
We are blessed with over 50km of trails for hiking, cycling, sightseeing, or
just enjoying the natural beauty of the area. Residents and visitors alike
can participate in indoor or outdoor aquatics, baseball, bowling, tennis,
several types of water sport and more. Our cultural facilities such as the
Collingwood Public Library and Collingwood Museum boast year-round cultural
programming complementing community programs and events in theatre,
music, dance, and visual arts.
