gallery, with its amazing permanent collection and busy program<br />

of temporary exhibitions. Take a tour or walk at your own pace with<br />

enjoy handmade chocolates in the café.<br />

Description: Strike gold at Sovereign Hill. By day, experience the<br />

gold fever that gripped Australia in the 1850s brought to life in our<br />

outdoor living museum.<br />

By night, see ‘Blood on the Southern Cross’, a spectacular sound<br />

and light show, and stay on-site at Comfort Inn Sovereign Hill.<br />

Type of operation: Outdoor museum.<br />

Location: 1 hour 30 minutes drive from Melbourne via Western Fwy.<br />

Opening times: Museum: 10am-5pm daily (except Christmas Day).<br />

‘Blood on the Southern Cross’ show: Nightly, (bookings essential).<br />

Creswick Woollen Mills is the home of luxurious, natural fibre<br />

products designed in Australia to suit Australian conditions.<br />

Founded in 1947 by Polish migrant, Paul Ryzowy, the Mills is now the<br />

only coloured woollen spinning mill of its type in Australia. Some<br />

of the luxurious products manufactured at the mills include Alpaca<br />

throws, blankets and accessories woven into sophisticated modern<br />

designs. Your itinerary may include a coffee at the café, a Machinery<br />

Tour or meeting and feeding the Alpacas. Discover local artisans at<br />

the Ryzowy Gallery and take home an Australian Alpaca throw made<br />
