KOLIBRI ENT SYSTEM
The Kolibri system was designed with the goal of making image-guided surgery available to every patient. Since Kolibri
ENT is compact and affordable it is ideal for surgery centers and for hospitals with smaller case loads or hospitals in
need of additional treatment capacity. The system’s lightweight portable design makes it easy to move between multiple
facilities. With the ability to track pre-existing surgical instruments, to display live endoscopic video, and to control the
system via the touchscreen monitor, Kolibri’s integration into the surgical procedure is straightforward. Driven by
BrainLAB’s user-friendly software, the learning curve of the system is extremely short.
LOADING OF PATIENT DATA Patient data will be automatically
loaded upon data transfer completion. Using the hospital’s network
connection and the universal DICOM format, the new software
PatXfer assures a simple and time-saving data transfer.
Data on the scanner can be accessed and easily retrieved.
PATIENT SETUP BrainLAB’s Reference Headband is attached
to the patient’s head ensuring dynamic tracking throughout the
case and eliminating the need for invasive patient immobilization
and uncomfortable headsets. This dynamic reference device
allows for unprecedented freedom of movement during navigation
while maintaining a high degree of accuracy.
PATIENT REGISTRATION Equipped with the standard wireless
Softouch pointer the patient is easily registered within seconds.
The pointer uses a sensitive tip to detect the surface points on
the patient’s skin. For additional intra-operative registration, other
methods such as the z-touch� laser are also compatible with the
system.
NAVIGATION The Kolibri ENT interface guides the surgeon
through the procedure and provides continuous information on
instrument position and movement in multiple planes.
Simultaneously, a real-time endoscopic view can be displayed on
the navigation screen.
