PulmoVista 500 – New insights into the lung
The PulmoVista 500 shows up to 50 images of lung ventilation per second. It is
the world‘s first EIT (electrical impedance tomography) device intended for
everyday clinical use, which depicts the regional distribution of the ventilation volume
in the lung continuously right at the patient‘s bedside. This makes it possible for the
physician track the impact of ventilation therapy in real time. PulmoVista 500 is ready
for use within minutes and works without radiation.
Product characteristics and advantages
- Continuous information about the regional distribution of ventilation, represented
as dynamic images, curves and parameters
- Trend mapping of changes in end-expiratory lung volume
- Mechanical ventilation may lead to lung damage and even sepsis if incorrectly
applied. Information about the regional ventilation distribution is thus of vital
importance for the therapy of mechanically ventilated patients.
- Monitoring with PulmoVista 500 is non-invasive and does not require
radiation in contrast to chest X-rays and CT (Computed Tomography) scans.
