We have the wind in
our sails!
In the last few years we
have been one of the
best performing schools
in Lewisham and in the
top 10% of schools in
the country in terms of
the progress students
make. This year we have
maintained our strong
performance with half
of our students achieving
5 or more A*-Cs including
English and maths, well over a fifth achieving 10 or more
A*-Cs and 15% achieving 5 or more A*/As - the best ever result
for our high achieving students.
In addition to our outstanding teachers, our state-of-the-art new
building offers a 21st century learning environment, with first class
facilities for ICT, science, sports and the arts. It will be wireless
throughout with laptops for every child in every classroom. The
building has a stunning location, looking north towards the
city sky line and south across Fordham Park facing Goldsmiths,
University of London, with whom we enjoy a close partnership.
Our new international sixth form, Deptford Green International
(‘DGI’) will open with the new school. It will offer the
prestigious International Baccalaureate, as well as A levels
and vocational courses.

Deptford Green is…
…innovative in its approach to learning. We offer a broad
curriculum designed to equip our students with the skills and
knowledge they need to be successful in life. We have distinctive
Learning Areas, each with its own character and aspirations.
…inspirational through our dedicated teachers and support
staff. We inspire our students to always do their best and to
take on new challenges. We promote active and fun learning in
the classroom and there is an exciting range of extra curricular
activities. We excel at sports including football, table tennis,
trampolining and athletics and our drama productions and school
concerts are outstanding.
…inclusive by supporting all our students to ensure they can
achieve their full potential. We have a dedicated Pastoral Team
and every child has a Progress Mentor and receives a one to one
interview each half term. Each year group has a teacher who
focuses on the Gifted and Talented students, ensuring they are
always fully stretched.
…international. As well as our local partnership with
Goldsmiths, University of London, we also have links with a
number of schools and institutions around the world, for example
St Kizito School in Kampala, Uganda, to which our students go on
lifechanging exchange visits. In recognition of our work in this area
we have been granted the full International School Award.
