Greetings from Black Widow!
As we look back on 2014, we had some great memories of hunting. The Black Widow Bear
Hunt was as good as it gets. There were lots of bears seen and our buddies Roger Ramirez,
Kent Zocher, Michael Mayfield, and Jim Calamaris aka Uncle Jim (as well as Roger Fulton),
all managed to get a bear with their traditional bows. Uncle Jim walked away with a new
PL longbow that he received for getting the biggest bear, which weighed in at 260 pounds.
We will be making another trip to Maine this fall 2015 for another bear hunt to see who can
come home with a new Black Widow Bow. We might even eat a few lobsters! If you would
like to join us on a great bear hunt, get in touch with Tony Boucher at Squapan Mountain
Outfitters in Mapleton, Me. His website is Squapan.Homestead.com or you can email Tony
or his wife Lynn at twb.lmb@atiwi.com or give them a call at (207) 764-7844. Give myself or
Roger a call and we can get you details of the hunt also.
We are introducing some spliced limb veneers for 2015 (see opposite page). You can find
photos of bows with spliced veneers on our website. If you have any questions, please give
us a call as there are many options available.
We hope everyone has a great 2015 and if you’ve never been hunting or just shooting with
friends with a Traditional Bow I hope you will give it a try. There’s no better feeling than
your first traditional harvest and I hope you will let us be a part of your experience with traditional
archery.
Have a great year and Shoot Straight,
Toby Essick, Roger Fulton, and John Clayman
“May the good LORD be your Outfitter and Guide;
May HE cause you to always shoot straight;
And may the trophies you pursue be worthy of the Book.”
Fellow Bowhunters,
We all want to be the best we can be
when it comes to hunting with the bow and
arrow. Bowhunting is a great and challenging
endeavor and probably only a few
people ever reach their maximum potential.
Which, in many ways is unfortunate. Not just
because it means you’ll be less successful,
but also because maximizing your potential
means understanding and becoming a part of
the great outdoor world into which bowhunting
takes us. And, for many of us, turns bowhunting
into a life altering experience.
But, in the end, the concrete purpose of this
workshop is to make you a better bowhunter.
If you truly believe you can become a better
bowhunter, this is the experience for you. If
you want to know you can trust your equipment,
know you can trust your instincts and
make that killing shot time after time, you
need to come join us.
