On New Year’s Eve, Marie Sturgis had two options; dining at a romantic restaurant or perching in a treestand with 11 degree temperatures and a real feel of 3 degrees. She took the obvious choice as she was determined to break in her new PSR before the season ended on New Year’s Day. I originally tried out a PSR for situations when I got stuck in small blinds. What I discovered was a hard shooting, maneuverable bow with the smooth draw, stability and accuracy of much longer models. The familiar grip and dependable TD system make switching from my longbows a breeze. Shooting the PSR is fun and reminds me of shooting recurves during my teenage years. • PSR Series • MODEL PSR II ONE-PIECE or TAKE-DOWN RECURVE: The natural camouflage of the “Graybark” birch laminations blends beautifully with the gray of tree bark, trunks and limbs. It is known for its amazing strength, density and hardness (two to three times harder than oak). We have chosen to use this rich, walnut colored exotic wood in the riser of the PSR V “Ironwood” bow. It is, indeed, as tough as iron! To compliment and match the toughness of the “Ironwood” riser in this bow we are using vertically stacked, stained, bamboo laminations in the limbs to further enhance feel and performance. The CNC “precision crafted” Black Widow “SHORT” recurve (PSR) was designed for the hunter who loves the simple, nostalgic look of the 1950s and longs for a short, more maneuverable bow but without the stack and finger pinch that normally occurs with shorter bows. As was often the case in those days, this recurve has a longbow grip and riser. It has exactly the same grip and riser as our PL longbow, which makes it unbelievably easy to switch back and forth between these two bows. What about performance? The PSR series matches the performance of all our other models. Need we say more? Available in one-piece or take-down version (see photo below). See RECOMMENDED LIMB LENGTHS below. • DYNA FLEX TRAPEZOID LIMBS: 56", 58" and 60". Vertically stacked, tapered laminations reinforced with a red, woven glass center core. Faced and backed with transparent fiberglass. Flemish-twist DynaFLIGHT 97 string. • RISER: Deflex design. Reinforced with prestressed, multiple layers of fiberglass on the back side of trim stripe that extend into the fadeouts. Tapered 2 3/4 inch sight window cut to center. Radiused shelf.
