CHILDREN, PARENTS
OUR AIMS FOR OUR STUDENTS
To identify and develop potential:
Every child is unique. Every child has individual talents and
abilities. Every child has potential; it is our job to recognise
and build upon this. Talents come in all shapes and sizes,
from the artistic, to the sportive, from the personal to the
academic. It is through encouragement, praise, high
expectations, challenge and support that these talents can
be fully developed.
To create success for all:
We set targets for all our students, so that they, and we,
know exactly what needs to be done for them to succeed.
Children who are gifted, able and talented are challenged
early on. Equally, children experiencing learning or
behavioural difficulties are supported. Individual learning
plans are drawn up in order that this support be effective. Yet
no child is invisible, and those children that fit neither category
comfortably are not forgotten, but provided with additional
focus. At school, academic development is
not all. Emotional and
social well-being is highly
important. Our Learning
Coach Director aims to work
with both staff and students
alike in order to ensure their
happiness and well-being.
To promote learning for life:
Pastoral care is strong
and staff go to
considerable lengths to
ensure that all students
are able to achieve.
We are committed to improving the quality of work we do with our
students, to show them that adults as well as children need to go on learning
throughout their lives. Personal relationships between staff and students are
vital for:
• fostering self-confidence
• fostering self-respect
• supporting each child’s growth into a mature and conscientious adult
• maintaining tolerance
• maintaining honesty
• promoting consideration for others
